Royal City Musical Theatre has announced it will present SHREK THE MUSICAL, a stage adaptation of the beloved animated film. The production is set to open in April.

Matt Dillon will star in the upcoming eight-episode drama series The Magnificent Seven, a reimagining of the classic 1960 Western film from MGM+. Production is targeted to begin in June 2026 in Calgary.

The Society for Theatre Research has announced that Gary Naylor and Kevin Wilson will serve as joint administrators of the 2026 STR Theatre Book Prize, taking over from longtime administrator Howard Loxton.

Being an adaptation of the classic 1980 film, 9 to 5 is a story of female empowerment, showing the resilience of women in the face of workplace sexism and inequality.

Veteran of stage and screen Sir Ian McKellen has lent his vocal talents to a central London amateur dramatic society's upcoming production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS after members heard him declare his desire to be in a musical in a recent Radio 4 interview.

Elwood P. Dowd is an affable man who claims to have an unseen (and presumably imaginary) friend Harvey — whom Elwood describes as a six-and-a-half-foot-tall rabbit pooka resembling an anthropomorphic rabbit. Elwood introduces Harvey to everyone he meets. His social-climbing sister, Veta, increasingly finds his eccentric behavior embarrassing.

Oh no it isn't ... Oh Yes it is ...Panto time once again.  This year Metro's panto was written by Erik Gow - a young playwright often associated with the Bard on the Beach group as an instructor.  It is decidedly different for Metro and yet has many of the same traditions you, our valued patrons, have come to love.  The director is well known, Jessie nominated Chris Adams - this is his fourth panto with Metro.  Chris' first experiences with panto were when he attended and then later 'starred' in a Metro panto.
