This month, FEINSTEIN’S/54 BELOW, Broadway’s Supper Club & Private Event Destination, will present some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

If you were a fan of the television show Designing Women back in the 80s and early 90s (which I was), this show is for you. If you were not watching tv back then, this is still for you. Giving off a Feminist vibe with a southern spin from the moment you enter the theatre, this production covers all of today's topics including #metoo, Black Lives Matter, COVID, and Donald Trump. There is also a nod to Cardi B and the Kardashians.

TheatreSquared in Fayetteville, Arkansas revives the mega hit TV series Designing Women live on stage in Northwest Arkansas and streaming on-demand. Teeming with raucous hilarity and channeling the series' one-of-a-kind, trademark voice, Designing Women sets out to reunite its audience in laughter. Starring  Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack.  Streaming online and in-person. 

The two-time Tony Award nominated Turner headlines a one-night-only reading of local playwright Peter Kennedy’s dark, new comedy Family Game Night as a benefit fundraiser for the Provincetown Theater Foundation. 

Broadway’s Carmen Cusack (Wicked, Bright Star, South Pacific), a Tony Award nominee, plays the indomitable Julia Sugarbaker through October 11, when she returns to Broadway in Flying Over Sunset.

The debut cast for the show includes actors from stage and screen. Broadway's Carmen Cusack (Wicked, Bright Star, South Pacific), a Tony Award nominee, plays the indomitable Julia Sugarbaker. Amy Pietz (Caroline in the City, The Office) will portray Suzanne Sugarbaker. Actor and comedian Sarah Colonna (Shameless, Chelsea Lately) takes on the role of Mary Jo Shively, while Elaine Hendrix (Dynasty, Parent Trap) plays Charlene Frazier to round out the iconic quartet.

Tickets are now available for Lincoln Center Theater's production of the new musical Flying Over Sunset. The musical, with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie. Check out pics of the cast in action!

Set in the 1950’s, FLYING OVER SUNSET is a work of fiction inspired by the lives of three extraordinary and accomplished people - writer Aldous Huxley (to be played by Harry Hadden-Paton); playwright, diplomat, and congresswoman, Clare Boothe Luce (Carmen Cusack); and film legend Cary Grant (Tony Yazbeck).

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Lincoln Center Theater has shifted opening dates for Flying Over Sunset. The new musical with book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Michael Korie, and featuring choreography by Michelle Dorrance, will begin performances on Thursday, November 11 and open on Monday, December 13 in the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

It's no accident that the start of this weekend’s live concert performances by Carmen Cusack at The Old Globe is her singing “I can’t wait to see your face” as she enters the stage.  It’s the most appropriate song for a performer and the audience who have waited through quarantine, zoom performances, and another technology-based theatre to make it to this point - a performer who is live on stage.  Carmen is performing at The Old Globe through Sunday, June 27th.

It’s summer, theatres are reopening, and Solea Pfeiffer is coming back to The Old Globe on June 19th and 20th to kick off their cabaret series, what more do you need to kickstart a great theatre season?  When asked about the cabaret Solea said, “To be totally honest with you, this cabaret is just about joy.”

The series will feature the return of Solea Pfeiffer (the Globe's Almost Famous, national tour of Hamilton), Tony Award nominee Carmen Cusack (Bright Star at the Globe and on Broadway, Broadway's upcoming Flying Over Sunset), and Eden Espinosa (the Globe's Rain, Broadway's Wicked and Rent) to the Globe.

TheatreSquared's signature annual celebration supporting education and access to remarkable live theatre will be held on June 3, 2021, at 6:00pm at the Fayetteville Library. 

The Old Globe today announced plans for the long-awaited full reopening of its three theatres in Balboa Park. Audiences will be able to once again gather in the Globe’s outdoor theatre starting June 4 and in the two indoor theatres in September.

Broadway veteran Christine Dwyer, most known for being one of the longest running Elphaba's in Broadway's WICKED, and also for starring as Jenna in WAITRESS, has joined the cast of The Reading Series' production of MARVIN'S ROOM. 

The Reading Series has announced their next production, Scott McPherson’s multiple award-winning comedic drama MARVIN’S ROOM, which will take place on Wednesday, May 26th at 8:00pm, benefiting The Actors Fund.
