The new musical 57 Bus by RYAN M. LUEVANO and JILL HOFFMANN had a successful developmental reading in New York City on Monday February 24th, 2020. The reading took place at The Growing Studios and had a full house of over 80 theatre lovers. The audience submitted anonymous surveys after the presentation and used the following words to describe the musical: “Youthful, deep, powerful, insightful, heartfelt, thought-provoking, effervescent, important, relevant, informative, poignant, inspiring, and relatable”.

Ryan M. Luevano To Attend The Artist-In-Residence Program At Château D'Orquevaux In France

RYAN M. LUEVANO and JILL HOFFMANN, writers of the new musical, 57 BUS, have been selected to attend the Artist-In-Residence Program hosted at the Château d'Orquevaux in France July 17-31, 2020. The writers have also been awarded the Denis Diderot Grant for their residency abroad. The Los Angeles & Chicago-based writers will spend two weeks on the beautiful French countryside, continuing to build their new musical while gaining insight from the international pool of 15 artists-in-residence that will be joining them.

New York Developmental Reading Announced For New Musical 57 BUS

A developmental reading of the new musical 57 BUSby RYAN M. LUEVANO and JILL HOFFMANNwill be held in New York City on Monday February 24th. The reading will be directed by JUSTIN BRAUN, a NYC-based director who recently directed the Memphis premiere of Be More Chill. He holds an MFA in directing from the University of Memphis.

This year's brand new holiday installment titled, The Rescignos: Deck the Pauls with Boughs of Robbie, is written by the Rescigno brothers and Mike Hadge (NEWSical: The Musical), and features their distinct brand of comedy and original music.

Sing Away the Stigma is a heartfelt, honest, life-affirming evening of brand-new songs by emerging musical theater composers and lyricists, inspired by true-life stories of those with mental health challenges. A dozen people from different backgrounds and walks of life, all living with a mental health condition, were interviewed and had their stories of struggle, strength, and hope turned into songs, which will be performed for the first time in this concert. Sing Away the Stigma is a testament to the power of musical theater, the strength of those living with mental illness, and the unique bond formed when the two meet.
