Los Angeles continues to be a hotbed of new musicals. After a dizzying number of new musicals appeared in the recent Hollywood Fringe Festival, soon the 18th annual Stages Musical Theatre Festival will be returning to Los Angeles this August. This prestigious festival features new musicals, which have been developed across the country, presented in concert readings. "I can't believe how much people enjoyed our little show," says Blaskie, who co-wrote the show as a way to combine his love of Hollywood with the theatre styles of New York City. "There are plenty of people in Los Angeles who love musical theatre, and I think they're responding to the fact that they can relate to this particular story. It's not another musical that's New York-centric. It's an LA story."
