Honeck-Moss Productions is proud to present "In The Works."  This exciting series was conceived as an opportunity for composers to try out new work in front of an audience and see how it plays in a supportive environment.  It is also an opportunity to create community among the composers and their performers.

On Friday, March 22, Theater for the New City will present a special one-hour, acoustic-punk reading of Christopher Marlowe's classic 'Doctor Faustus' script, directed by Elizabeth Ruf-Maldonado. The reading follows the 8:00 PM production of 'Johannes Dokchtor Faust, a Petrifying Puppet Comedye' by Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre.

Escape to the forest of Arden with a romantic and immersive production of As You Like It. Four charming couples swoon, banter, argue, and fall deeply in love against the background of an original, modern score. This production reunites the team behind our entertaining, touching, and bittersweet production of A Midsummer Night's Dream: director Jessica Aimone and music director and composer Zach Roberts. Theatre of NOTE's production of 'For The Love Of (or, the roller derby play),' which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the third annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre, will open this Saturday, March 9 at 8 p.m. Written by Gina Femia and directed by Rhonda Kohl, 'For The Love Of' is currently in previews and will close March 17.

Theatre Wesleyan, one of the longest-running theatres in the Metroplex, will conclude their 2018/19 mainstage season with a production of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, AVENUE Q.  The department's annual spring musical is one of the longest-running theatre traditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The tale, set in the 1960s, takes place in the city of Venice. It centers on Guido Contini who is dreading his upcoming 40th birthday. We follow him as he is facing a midlife crisis that seems to be blocking artistic whims cornering him in a web of romantic complications; Both in real life and his mind. Arthur Kopit's book takes much insight from the viewer as they switch between reality and Guido's mind. Moreover, the music, by Maury Yeston, is rich and moving.

Actors Bridge Ensemble presents the Nashville premiere of Citizen: An American Lyric by Claudia Rankine, adapted for the stage by Stephen Sachs and directed by Jon Royal, March 22-31, at the Actors Bridge Studio at Darkhorse Chapel.

Scenes and songs from the three separate yet similar stories are woven together as one to create a unique singular experience.

Meadow Brook Theatre is pleased to welcome guest director Benjamin Sterling Cannon to helm the story of the affluent, African-American LeVay family. The LeVays are gathering at their Martha's Vineyard home for the weekend, and brothers Kent and Flip have each brought their respective ladies home to meet the parents for the first time. As the two newcomers butt heads over issues of race and privilege, long-standing tensions bubble under the surface and reach a boiling point when secrets are revealed.    

CONTEMPORANEITY 3.0 is a new presenting series by Anandam Dance theatre in partnership with Toronto Dance Theatre, featuring new works and works-in-progress by artists practicing in Asian, African, Latin American, Arab and Indigenous dance forms. CONTEMPORANEITY 3.0 features dance pieces by NOVA DANCE (Toronto), MIX MIX DANCE COLLECTIVE (Toronto), and PADMINI CHETTUR (India). This new series will be presented April 3 - 6, 2019 at Toronto Dance Theatre.

As the final production of its 54th season, the Costa Mesa Playhouse presents the Tony Award-winning, puppet-filled musical "Avenue Q," running March 22 through April 21.

I realize part of the fun of THE SECRETARY is it never comes down heavily on one side or the other on the gun debate, but that also means I sat there frustrated as I felt there was little point to whipping out pistols and taking on issues.

Tennessee Playwrights Studio, a Nashville-based new-play development lab in partnership with Actors Bridge Ensemble, has announced its fellows and associates for 2019. Five TPS fellows, chosen from a competitive application process, will work under the direction of Kenley Smith to develop new full-length scripts that will be presented in public readings at the Darkhorse Theatre Chapel later this year. Two associates will contribute to monthly workshop sessions in the first year and will become TPS Fellows in 2020. TPS will continue to cast actors from the Nashville community for workshops and readings.
