Dear Readers, if you’re a die-hard musical theater nerd like me, there are certain shows that just feel like a warm hug. A comfort show that you can go to (and have) over and over that just make you happy. For me, along with the likes of “Mamma Mia”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, and “Hairspray”, we have the Kander and Ebb classic, “Chicago”. I know it backwards and forwards (having worn out the CD of the Bebe Neuwirth and Ann Reinking revival) and I’ve seen it many times over the years, some with casts showing how the show can be amazing. I still remember Bianca Marroquín flooring me as Roxie. So, when the tour comes through town again, I say “yes please”. And while this was still my little slice of comfort food, and while some elements were fantastic, this production just missed that little something “extra” to make it sparkle.

This reviewer was completely in awe of the amazing vocals at David Sabella's 9/30 CHICAGO tribute show. The original Mary Sunshine from the 1990s Encores! revival shared details about his journey through the show, and plenty of Kander & Ebb numbers.

A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, the world-renowned contemporary dance company driven by a mission to amplify Black culture and Queer stories through dance, honored visionary arts leaders Sarah Arison and Antwaun Sargent at its annual Homecoming Gala. The event was held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Jazz at Lincoln Center, (Frederick P. Rose Hall, Broadway at 60th Street) and marked the official launch of A.I.M’s 20th Anniversary season. 

Jamie Lloyd is back on Broadway with a new production of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting For Godot starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. The production officially opened on September 28. Check out photos from the opening night red carpet here!

Jutst yesterday, the best of Broadway came together in Shubert Alley for the 27th annual Broadway Barks. Hosted by co-founder Bernadette Peters and Beth Leavel, the special event featured a ‘meet and greet' of all the adoptable pets, who made their Broadway debut on stage alongside some of Broadway's favorite stars. BROADWAY BARKS has announced additional celebrities for their 27th annual dog and cat adoption. As previously announced, the event will be hosted by co-founder Bernadette Peters and Beth Leavel and is produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. 

Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth is among the cast starring in Don't Say Good Luck, a new comedy film for Netflix. The movie also stars Sunny Sandler, Melanie Lynskey, Max Greenfield, Stephanie Beatriz, and Steve Buscemi.

Hosted by The Voice of the Mets Colin Cosell, The 24 Hour Musicals were just held yesterday, June 16, at the Lynn F. Angelson Theatre. This intensive theatrical endeavor lets artists write, rehearse and perform four new musicals in just 24 hours. Check out photos from inside the big night!  

9 to 5: The Musical is a stage adaptation of the 1980 film of the same name, featuring music and lyrics by Dolly Parton. This outlandish musical comedy features a book by Patricia Resnick, and is based on the screenplay by Resnick and Colin Higgins.
