Based on the blockbuster Scholastic book series by Aaron Blabey, The Bad Guys is directed by Pierre Perifel (animator, the Kung Fu Panda films), making his feature-directing debut. The cast of the new film features Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, Richard Ayoade, Zazie Beetz, Lilly Singh and Alex Borstein.

Films such as West Side Story, tick, tick...BOOM!, Cyrano, Encanto, and In the Heights were recognized this morning by the Hollywood Foreign Press. Nominees also included Peter Dinklage, Denzel Washington, Cynthia Erivo, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ewan McGregor, Uzo Aduba, Aaron Sorkin, Hannah Waddingham, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and more.

The categories for the ceremony were completely voted for by fan, honoring the best of movies, television, music, and social media. The nominations for the 2022 IPA Satellite Awards have been announced! The film adaptions of tick, tick...BOOM!, In the Heights, and Cyrano received nominations. In a recent interview on CNBC, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda revealed that the film capture of the Broadway production amplified the demand for ticket sales to the show on Broadway. Miranda went on to encourage other producers to release filmed pro-shots of Broadway productions moving forward. 'Hamilton' is now streaming on Disney+.

12-year-old Isabella Iannelli will be making her Muny debut playing Young Gloria in the upcoming production of On Your Feet! based on the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan. Isabella has starred on Broadway opposite Marisa Tomei in Tennessee William’s The Rose Tattoo. She was a featured dancer in the Lin Manuel Miranda movie In the Heights. Isabella has had extensive dance training since the age of 3. She dances every style of dance.  She also works with a vocal coach weekly. This incredibly articulate pre-teen sat down with BroadwayWorld to discuss her Muny debut and how she is navigating her young career.

Most recently the incomparable vocalist and actor was nominated for an Emmy for best actress for her stellar portrayal of Aretha Franklin in Genius: Aretha and is set to make her debut at the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA  on July 30. 

Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo have joined in on the new In the Heights trend sweeping through TikTok! The pair, who originated the roles of Usnavi and Vanessa in the original Broadway production of In the Heights, filmed themselves lip-syncing to 'Blackout' from the film, with Miranda singing Vanessa's part and Olivo singing Usnavi's.
