World renowned conductor and arranger John Wilson leads an all-star cast of singers and his Grammy Award-nominated eponymous orchestra, comprised of some of the UK's finest musicians, on this dazzling recording of some of the greatest songs from Hollywood's Golden Age. Most of the scores have been lovingly and painstakingly reconstructed by Wilson, as MGM destroyed the originals in 1969.

The Standard Edition CD, a Deluxe Edition and a DVD of the 2009 BBC Proms, which launched John Wilson to fame in his native UK, is currently featured as part of a major national PBS pledge drive in August and September, will be available through all stores and online retailers on September 25th, 2012.

The Hangar Theatre has announced casting for its The 38th season, which will include a thrilling line-up of plays and musicals. The season takes off with Ken Ludwig's knock-down, drag it out farce, Lend Me A Tenor (June 21-July 7), starring Emily Skinner, Michael McCormick, Janet Dacal, Daniel Berlingeri, Lindsay Clemmons, Eddie Vona and Judy Levitt. That will be followed by the premiere of a strikingly innovative concept of the Tony winning best musical Titanic (July 12-July 28), starring Alma Cuervo, William Youmans, Drew McVety, Christianne Tisdale, Phillip Hoffman, Joneil Joplin, and Robert Cuccioli. The sophisticated comedy Full Gallop (August 2-August 11) is next, starring Dee Hoty, followed by the area premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning musical Next to Normal (August 16-September 1), with Andrea Burns and Chris Hoch. The final offering is a true American classic, Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful (September 13-September 22), featuring Susannah Berryman.

The article addressed the lack of unity and support from the African-American community towards the 85 year old legacy that is the Madame Walker Theatre Center. Today, May 4th, staff and board of the Madame Walker Theatre Center will be on site at New Orleans on the Avenue with Amos Brown from Afternoons with Amos. From 1-3p, anyone who purchases a meal from New Orleans, 10% of the proceeds will go to the Walker. Amos Brown will discuss Walker building concerns with the community and with the board of directors.
