Lyric Opera of Chicago presents a new production of The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflote), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's beloved, enchanting opera about the triumph of good over evil.
Irish Repertory Theatre presents FINIAN'S RAINBOW, directed and adapted by Charlotte Moore (Da), at Irish Rep Theatre (132 West 22nd Street) on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage. Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production of Disney's Freaky Friday. Developed by Disney Theatrical Productions expressly for licensing to theatres, Freaky Friday features a book by Bridget Carpenter, music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey. This premiere production will be directed by Christopher Ashley with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Freaky Friday runs now through November 20 in Signature Theatre's MAX Theatre. Following record breaking and sold out engagements in 2013 and 2014, THE BOOK OF MORMON, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins November 1 at The Fisher Theater in Detroit and plays a limited two week engagement through November 13. In Detroit, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making a limited number of tickets available at $25 apiece (includes at $4 restoration fee).
The latest release from new YouTube series, davidrowen/creative, is an a cappella arrangement of the short tune, 'One Jump Ahead (Reprise),' written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice for the 1992 Disney animated classic, Aladdin.
The full lineup is set for the 13th installment of the acclaimed Broadway Sings concert series, Broadway Sings Beyonce, which will feature completely new arrangements of her record-breaking hits, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations.
