William Wolf Biography
William Wolf, critic, author, educator and lecturer, served two years as Chairman of the New York Film Critics Circle and was a member of the National Society of Film Critics, the New York Film Critics Online, the Online Film Critics Society, P. E. N., the American Theatre Critics Association, the International Association of Theatre Critics, and the American Association of University Professors. He served as President of the Drama Desk, an organization of critics and writers on the theater, and previously served for two years on its nominating committee for the Drama Desk Awards and is on the Drama Desk Executive Board.William Wolf News

Due to the ongoing health crisis, in lieu of a traditional ceremony, the 65th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be announced during a special presentation of Spectrum News NY1's On Stage on Sunday, May 31, at 7:30 PM.

In light of the current uncertainty around the return date of New York theater, the Drama Desk organization announced today that the 65th Annual Drama Desk Awards will adopt a revised season end date of March 11, and move forward with the release of nominations on April 21, and online announcement of winners on May 31.

Here's one New Year's resolution that's easy to keep: Make plans to enjoy beautiful live symphonic music with your ohana and the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO). The HSO opens 2017 with "Made In America" - a stellar afternoon of American music led by HSO Artistic Advisor Maestro JoAnn Falletta and featuring pianist William Wolfram on Sunday, January 8 at 4 pm. This matinee concert showcases great American composers of today such John Corigliano, as well as icons Gershwin and Bernstein. The centerpiece of the afternoon is Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F major. "Made In America" also features Barber's The School for Scandal Overture and John Corigliano's Phantasmagoria Suite from his opera The Ghosts of Versailles, which was first performed at the Metropolitan Opera in 1991.
