Review: CABARET at Theatre Three
by Sam Desmond - Oct 7, 2026
In a time when “Tomorrow Belongs to Me,” could play in the background of so many different leaders’ speeches, “Cabaret,” is a musical that teaches a lesson with the glorious dreams of liberty, acceptance, and joy marched into death.

Review: YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN at Theatre Three
by Sam Desmond - May 19, 2026
The story follows the grandson of Victor Frankenstein, Frederick, as a trip to Transylvania becomes less about sorting his dead grandfather’s estate and more about taking up the family business of accidental monster making. To help him in his quest, Frederick has a team of quirky personalities who round out the non sequiturs so ubiquitous in a Mel Brooks piece.

Port Jefferson's Theatre Three sensationally continues their amazing fifty third season with a gripping production of Agatha Christie's Murder On The Orient Express. It is most interesting and thrilling to see a mystery mounted locally as this title doesn't seem to be done often. This production runs through May 4th at the charming Long Island venue and by the enthusiasm from opening weekend, you may want to get your tickets quickly.

BWW Review: CHARLES DICKENS' A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Theatre Three
by Melissa Giordano - Nov 28, 2021
The show is wonderful to begin with; there is no doubt about that. Theatre Three's 37th annual production of the iconic Charles Dickens tale A Christmas Carol has certainly become a beautiful tradition on Long Island. Even with slight changes throughout the years, this ageless production is as spectacular as ever. Jeffrey Sanzel, the Artistic Director of the Port Jefferson venue celebrating its 51st season, directs the dazzling play running through December 26th.

BWW Review: You Will Be 'Hopelessly Devoted' to Theatre Three's Production of GREASE
by Nicholas Pontolillo - Sep 30, 2021
It has been over a year and half since the world shut down due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, I'm thrilled to say, Theater has returned. 'Welcome back!' Oops, Wait I'm mixing-up my 1970's John Travolta pop culture references. 'I got chills and they're multiplying' (that's better). Thankfully, these multiplying chills are not from COVID, but from Theatre Three's fantastically fun production of Grease, complete with an on-stage hot rod.

BWW Review: THE FANTASTICKS at Theatre Three
by Melissa Giordano - Jul 23, 2021
It may seem a production of the classic musical The Fantasticks can be found anywhere. However, when you have a cast as wonderful as those in Theatre Three’s incarnation, masterfully directed by Artistic Director Jeffrey Sanzel, you must check it out again. Running through August 15th at the beautiful Port Jefferson venue, this is the world’s longest running musical.
