Rain on Fire begins with Marie when she comes home to plan her addicted mother Lorraine's funeral. 'Rain' left a surprising final wish for Marie and her cousin Caleb, a meth user, to fulfill together. Marie struggles with her anger and loss in a tense and often funny play that deals with the opioid crisis.

FIM Flint Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of Rain on Fire September 15 – October 1. The bold new drama – set in northern Michigan – tells the painful story of a family dealing with an opioid crisis. It is inspired by actual events in Michigan-native playwright Karen Saari’s hometown in the Upper Peninsula.

 Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma and Artistic Director Braden Abraham, kicks off its 2023/24 Season with Eurydice. Eurydice is written by Wilmette native and acclaimed playwright Sarah Ruhl and marks the directorial debut of Braden Abraham at Writers Theatre.

Cumbernauld Theatre at Lanternhouse has announced its 2023 Spring/Summer season, with tickets now on sale for all productions.

A new production of Bold Girls by Rona Munro will open on 24th September in Cumbernauld. The play is being produced in-house at Cumbernauld Theatre Trust's new home at Lanternhouse, a state-of-the-art performing arts centre based at Cumbernauld Community Campus.

This, Sondheim's most charming work, receives a splendid production at Union Avenue Opera. Yesterday I mentioned to two of my kids that we'd just seen A Little Night Music. Now they had both memorized most of Sweeney Todd some forty years ago while in grade school or junior high, so I was appalled to find that neither of them was familiar with this earlier Sondheim masterpiece. What sort of wretchedly deprived childhood had we given them?!

Following a successful run of Verdi's Falstaff that critics hailed as 'musical perfection,' 'an effervescent treat,' 'delightful,' and 'not to be missed,' Union Avenue Opera is preparing for the final production of its 28th Festival Season featuring four performances of Stephen Sondheim's acclaimed A Little Night Music.

This summer, Union Avenue Opera will make its highly anticipated return to its home stage within the historic Union Avenue Christian Church. Union Avenue Opera will offer a three-opera festival season opening with Tchaikovsky's masterpiece, Eugene Onegin (July 8, 9, 15, 16) which last appeared on the UAO stage in 2003.

Every party has to have a theme, darling, and Sideshow will not disappoint. A play is an event, and so each play will have a customized party experience to bring the audience together even when we're apart.
