Americana Theatre Company (ATC), Plymouth's professional theatre company, presents the rousing Robin Hood-esque, southern bluegrass musical tale “The Robber Bridegroom”, playing Thursdays through Sundays from July 7 through 24, at Spire Center for Performing Arts, 25 ½ Court Street, Plymouth.

Those that enjoy bluegrass music and like to laugh should make plans to attend the Cowley College theatre department’s production of The Robber Bridegroom. New York Theatre Barn announced it is honoring its co-founder, Sheilah Rae, with the company's first Lifetime Achievement Award.  The award recognizes her exceptional contributions to musical theatre as a writer, composer, lyricist and performer for over 50-years, and her co-founding and outstanding service and vision for New York Theatre Barn (NYTB) for more than a decade.  Joe Barros, artistic director of NYTB, and Rob Wyse, board president of NYTB, made the announcement at the February 4th New Works Series. Each noted her deep understanding of the journey from page to stage.

It's always a pleasure catching up with an old friend, hearing stories you haven't heard in years, laughing together about inside jokes and just feeling comfortable together. These feelings can often be the same when experiencing a theatrical piece again after a long absence. What makes it even more special is when you rarely get to see that friend (or that show). Such is the case, for me, with Alfred Uhry and Robert Waldman's THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM, Broad Brook's Opera House Players' current production.
