BIO
Michael Townsend Wright was born in Red Bank, New Jersey on February 28, 1956. He began doing puppet shows for the neighborhood children at age 3 and has been performing ever since. He started in local theater groups, then regional theater and New York productions. He toured as a teenager with a medicine show and joined The Uncle Floyd Show in 1987. Wright continues to work with Floyd Vivino in live performances. He has appeared in the films, The Rat Pack (as Walter Winchell), Lansky, written by David Mamet (as Jake Lansky)among others. On television he has been featured on Rescue Me, The Naked Brothers Band and voice over work for Nickelodeon. On stage Wright played Eddie Foy in Chip Deffaa's The Seven Little Foys at The NY Fringe Festival as well as a production at the York Theater. He has done numerous staged readings for playwrights such as Arje Shaw and a production of the Negro Ensemble Company. Wright is currently playing Irving Berlin in Chip Deffaa's Irving Berlin's America, with co-star Giuseppe (Billy Elliot, Newsies) Bausilio.

On September 14th (at 7pm) at the Sheen Center (18 Bleecker Street) there will be a reading of “It Fell Off a Truck”, a full-length comedy by veteran PR man Jules Feiler, loosely based on the life of his own father. The piece centers on the relationship between the “tough guy” father (David Proval) his son, (Johnny Tammaro) and the daughter-in-law (Joli Tribuzio). It's a father and son reunion that after 20 years no one would mistake for a happy one.
