New York Stage and Film has announced the early-career film and TV writers who have been selected to participate in the 2023 Filmmakers’ Workshop. The participants are Nancy Duff; Harrison Hamm; Drew Harper; Atticus Hoffman; Summera Howell; Anndi Jinelle Liggett; Allyson Morgan; Craig T. Williams; and G. Wilson. 

The Sundance Institute Science-in-Film initiative with the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation celebrated this year's Feature Film Prize winner The Pod Generation directed by Sophie Barthes and the recipients of three artist grants for three projects in development at a reception following the Appetite for Construction panel at Filmmaker Lodge.

New York Stage and Film held their 2022 Winter Party on Monday, December 5 at the Empire Rooftop, 44 West 63rd Street. The festive December event will begin at 6:00 PM with libations and food, followed at 7:00 PM by performances from three new musicals workshopped at NYSAF, directed by Ibi Owolabi with music direction by Nick Wilders. Just last night, New York Stage and Film celebrated its annual Winter Gala, honoring six-time Tony Award-nominated producer and philanthropist Diana DiMenna, and Academy Award and four-time Golden Globe-nominated and Tony Award-winning actor and producer Tom Hulce. The Winter Gala, a fundraising event to support New York Stage and Film's year-round theater and film development initiatives, was held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom (141 West 54th Street, New York City).

Love's soft will be the second installation in their NYC Reading Series at Barnard College, held on Monday, October 29th at 7:00pm at the Glicker-Milstein Theater at The Diana Center. Directed by Awoye Timpo, the cast of soft features Gabriel Diego Hernandez, Galen Ryan Kane, Obie and AUDELCO Award winner Russell G. Jones, Andy Lucien, Joshua E. New York Stage and Film announced today that Artistic Director Johanna Pfaelzer will be stepping down from her longtime leadership position with the organization to become the new Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre beginning September 1, 2019.

Vassar & New York Stage and Film have announced additional casting for the highly anticipated 34th Powerhouse Season in Poughkeepsie, NY, which is currently running through Sunday, July 29.

Powerhouse, the theater development program by Vassar and New York Stage and Film, has announced its 2018 season, according to Variety. The season will include new musicals by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater, the duo behind Spring Awakening, as well as Jason Robert Brown.
