Mark S. Graham BIO :
Mark S. Graham has directed over 125 plays and musicals including John O’Hern's Rooster in the Henhouse on Theater Row and Elizabeth Fuller's Me and Jezebel at The Actor's Playhouse and the recent revival at the Snapple Theater. He has directed Me and Jezebel in productions across the country including a Florida production starring Jim Bailey. At Feinstein’s in NYC, he directed Barbara Schottenfeld’s cabaret act. Mark has directed and co-produced Stan Lachow's Harry and Thelma in The Woods in readings with Rue McClanahan and productions at The New Jersey Rep and the Hollywood Playhouse in Florida.
Mark has staged a musical version of Dark of the Moon narrated by Werner Klemperer at The Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. At Playhouse on the Green he directed the premiere of Sweetspot, a comedy about golf by John O'Hern. He directed E. Katherine Kerr in Ann Richards, Backwards in High Heels at the Abingdon Theater in NYC. With Mary Jane Schaefer, he has developed a trilogy about the life of William Shakespeare, which has been presented at the National Arts Club and The Players Club and Utah Shakespeare Festival.
For ten years, Mark was a producing partner of Tony Award winning producer Lester Osterman. He was general manager of Lucille Lortel's White Barn Theater in Westport, CT. Mark was a founding member of the Downtown Cabaret Theater and co-artistic director of Playhouse on The Green.
Mark has an MFA in directing from the University of Connecticut. He has served as a board member of Westport Country Playhouse and Playhouse on the Green. In addition, Mark was a former president and a member of The Theatre Artist's Workshop. He has directed numerous staged readings at The National Arts Club including Noguchi and Danse Macabre, a new play about Stalin and Eisenstein.
Mark was an adjunct professor and guest director at Polk State University. As Associate Director at Theatreworks Florida, he developed and directed a workshop with veterans funded by The National Endowment for the Arts. Recently, Mark directed Liz Fuller’s adaptation of Interrupted Journey, about a famous 60’s alien abduction. In October at the Solo United Festival in NYC, He will be directing Cheese Fries and Froot Loops, a one man show about a golf pro who is diagnosed as bi-polar. In addition, Mark with producing partner Peter Staley has been developing a new musical, The Girl in the Red Dress.
