Full all star cast announced for industry presentation of Ashley Griffin's Trial directed by Lori Petty. The cast includes Kate Siegel, Callum Blue, Jennifer Bareilles, Steven Hauck, and more.

Trial, a new play by Ashley Griffin (Snow) and directed by Lori Petty (Orange is the New Black, A League of Their Own) will have two industry presentations on February 28th, 2023 (12pm and 3pm) at TheaterLab in NYC.

Blank Paige, a new fantasy YA novel by Ashley Griffin (Bestselling author of The Spindle, WellLife Network Award winner for Trial) will be published by Inklings Literary. 

The series regulars are Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano, C. Thomas Howell, Kimi Rutledge, Paola Lázaro, Terrence Terrell, Alyson Gorske, and Eugene Kim. Recurring is Carl Lumbly, David Costabile, Lindsey Kraft, Costa Ronin, Tobias Jelinek, and Minnie Mills, with guest stars Lori Petty, Virginia Madsen, Clive Standen, and more. Broadway writer/performer Ashley Griffin to release debut novel The Spindle.     The Spindle, a new fiction novel by Ashley Griffin (WellLife Network Award winner for Trial) will be published by Oaklea Press and released later this month. The Spindle is the classic fairy tale “Sleeping Beauty” retold from the dark fairy's point of view…  

Additional guest stars joining the cast include Virginia Madsen (Joy, Sideways) as “Marge,” Lori Petty (Station Eleven, Orange is the New Black) as “Crazy Susan,” Keston John (Avatar: The Way of Water, The Good Place)as “Mr. Dugan,” Clive Standen (Taken, Vikings) as “Liam,” and Ivan G’vera (The Defeated, Freud) as “Vlad.” 

Zane Carney (“Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark,” John Daversa’s GRAMMY Nominated Album “Kaleidoscope Eyes”) and Ashley Griffin (“Trial,” “Forever Deadward,”) will collaborate on the upcoming musical WITCH HUNT – a reimagining of the Salem witch trials set against the backdrop of the American political system. Griffin will pen the book and lyrics with Carney writing the music.

Neil Gooding Productions and New York Rep will be holding a workshop and closed reading of THE OPPOSITE OF LOVE by Ashley Griffin at Theatre Row on the 17th and 18th of March, prior to its planned premiere season in New York.

Station Eleven stars Mackenzie Davis, Himesh Patel, Daniel Zovatto, David Wilmot, Matilda Lawler, Philippine Velge, Nabhaan Rizwan and Lori Petty, with Gael Garcìa Bernal and Danielle Deadwyler recurring. Station Eleven is based on the international bestseller of the same name by Emily St. John Mandel.

With the current theatre world on hiatus, I have created a Spotlight Series on Broadway World which features interviews with some of the many talented artists who make our Los Angeles theatre community so exciting and vibrant thanks to their ongoing contribution to keeping the Arts alive in the City of the Angels. And just like all of us, I wondered how they are dealing with the abrupt end of productions in which they were involved. This Spotlight focuses on Ashley Griffin, an actor in Los Angeles since the age of five who moved to New York City to follow her theatre dreams - and is now both writing and acting in shows.

Writer/performer Ashley Griffin (Trial, Twilight: The Musical!) signs three play publishing deal with By/For Publishing for representation of her shows: The Snow Queen (adapted from the Hans Christian Andersen story,) A Little Princess (adapted from the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett,) and The Jungle Book (adapted from the novel by Rudyard Kipling.)

Deadline reports that I Am Patrick Swayze, Paramount's latest in its I Am documentary series, averaged 1.1 million total viewers -- its biggest ratings ever for a special like this.

Powerhouse vocalist/actress Emma Hunton (onstage for many a UNAUTHORIZED MUSICAL PARODY OF...  show) switches gears, exhibiting her directing prowess in her inaugural directorial UMPO production of A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN. Hunton keeps the punchlines, the pop songs, the sweet moves coming at you in a machine gun-pace with just enough time to react with laughter or applause. As expected of a project from UMPO executive producer/writer Kate Pazakis, UMPO: A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN consists of her very clever selection of pop songs to further the narrative, combined with some of the wittiest lines to parody the already existing funny moments of the Penny Marshall-directed A League of Their Own.

 Paramount Network has joined forces with Network Entertainment to celebrate the life of legendary Hollywood figure Patrick Swayze for the  latest installment of the I Am documentary franchise. I Am Patrick Swayze will world premiere in the actor's home state at the San Antonio Film Festival on Friday, August 2, and will debut on Swayze's birthday, Sunday, August 18 at 9:00 p.m. ETPT on Paramount Network.  Patrick Swayze classics Ghost and Dirty Dancing will air leading into the documentary at 3:30 p.m. ETPT and 6:30 p.m. ETPT. 

Ashley Griffin commissioned to create new theater podcast 'Stage Directions' for Onstage Network  

On Thursday March 28th Ashley Griffin and Lori Petty received the WellLife Network Community Outreach and Partnership award for their work on the hit play Trialand its advocacy impact. Trial,a new play by Ashley Griffin(Snow, Twilight the Unauthorized Musical Parody), and directed by Lori Petty(Orange is New Black, A League of Their Own) tells the unique, provocative, story of a young woman waiting for her own judgment in the bureaucratic system of the afterlife where she finds herself in the role of judge and jury to determine the eternal fate of her father, the man responsible for her abuse and death. The play is inspired by a true story.
