This summer, Second City Toronto celebrated its 50th anniversary with a weekend of parties, panels, and opportunities for alumni and fans to reconnect. BroadwayWorld Toronto spoke to AD Julie Dumais Osborne and cast member PHATT al about the celebrations, what Second City means to Toronto, and what’s next for the company as it marks the big 5-0.

The Second City, Chicago's legendary sketch and improv comedy theater will return to Columbus for a show at the Davidson Theatre on Friday, November 17, at 8 pm.

From Thursday, August 10 through Sunday August 13, globally-touring renaissance man and musician - and funny man Tony Molesworth will return to The Royal City this year for another 3 day run in the Guelph Fringe Festival, this time with a brand new CD and one-man show, both titled 'A Mystic's Journey”.

JEAN LOUISA KELLY – the stage and screen star from the original Broadway cast of Into the Woods, and the movies Uncle Buck, Mr. Holland's Opus, The Fantasticks, and Top Gun: Maverick – will return to The Laurie Beechman Theatre with “Anything Can Happen!” for two additional shows after her sold-out New York concert debut earlier this year. The encore performances will take place Friday, March 31 at 7:00 PM and Saturday, April 1 at 9:30 PM.

Second City and SNL alum Jerry Minor returns to Chicago to direct his first resident stage production with an ensemble that includes e.t.c. stage vets Alex Bellisle, Mark Campbell, Terrence Carey, and Laurel Krabacher, Mainstage alum Jordan Savusa, and former Second City Touring Company member Claudia Martinez.

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City has announced the creation of The Victor Wong Fellowship, a program to train and mentor up-and-coming comedians. Named after The Second City's first Asian American performer and funded by Peng Zhao, CEO of Citadel Securities, and his wife, Cherry Chen, the fellowship will focus on developing the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) talent.
