BIO

Franca Vercelloni is an actor and musician. Off-Broadway: Drama Desk nominated productions A Christmas Carol (St. Clement’s), I’m A Stranger Here Myself (York Theatre). Regional: Much Ado About Nothing (Barrington Stage), Cowgirls (Florida Studio Theatre), Buddy Holly (Engeman Theater), Family Game Night (w/Kathleen Turner, Provincetown Theater). NY Fringe Festival hit solo show: Classically Trained, Practically Broke. Concerts: Ragtime on Ellis Island (with Brian Stokes Mitchell), Perfectly Marvelous (with Audra McDonald). TV: “The Deuce”, “Search Party”, “Bull”. Film: The Big Bad Swim. Franca is also a celebrated pianist at iconic NYC piano bar Marie’s Crisis. She garnered acclaim for leading interactive virtual singalongs during pandemic lockdown and has been featured in the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, Village Voice, American Theatre Wing’s “Working in the Theatre” and on the cover of The New York Times Arts Section. Northport's exquisite John W. Engeman Theatre does it again with a boffo incarnation of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story. Running through March 3rd at the Long Island venue, the musical is strongly directed by Keith Andrews and boasts an absolutely stellar cast many of whom have been in previous productions of this show. While we know Buddy (along with a few of his friends) died young and tragically in a plane crash, Alan Janes has certainly created a joyous celebration of Buddy's life.

Clurman Lab's 'MOTHER COURAGE', Set in German Beer Hall, Begins Tonight

The Harold Clurman Laboratory Theater Company is transforming Studio G at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting into a German beer hall in this lively production of MOTHER COURAGE AND HER CHILDREN by Bertolt Brecht and conceived by director John Gould Rubin, which will include live music as well as beer & sausages for purchase. Using a translation by Tony Kushner, the production will open tonight, January 28th, with performances running through February 20th.
