BIO

Most recently, Barbara has performed in the Philadelphia area in The Wizard of Oz and Jerry’s Girls for the Walnut Street Theatre and Bus Stop for the Bristol Riverside Theatre. In the past few years, Barbara starred as Anna in The King and I on Broadway and Mrs. Darling in Peter Pan; opened the world premiere of The House in Town, directed by Doug Hughes at Lincoln Center; starred Off-Broadway in the first revival of Tovarich, the musical written for Vivien Leigh; starred in a movie for the Hallmark Channel, In the Foxhole; went to Florida with a dog named Sylvia; saved the world as Sabina in The Skin of Our Teeth; and tried to revamp the military in Defiance. She has also been poisoned by her husband in Hamlet and lost and finally won true love as Desiree in A Little Night Music. In between various other plays and concerts, Barbara has recorded dozens of audiobooks, including two of her recent favorites, Lawyer for the Dog and Lawyer for the Cat.

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces the director and full cast for the Philadelphia premiere of Marsha Norman and Jason Robert Brown's sweeping musical version of the best-selling novel, The Bridges of Madison County. The production is the second of the inaugural season under Producing Artistic Director Paige Price. For Bridges, Price has tapped Mark Martino to direct a cast rich with local theatre stars and Barrymore Award-winners, alongside actors with notable national and Broadway credits. The cast is led by Philadelphia actress Sarah Gliko and PA Native and Broadway actor Gregg Goodbrod.  Recent Barrymore Award winner Amanda Morton (Passing Strange, Wilma Theater) will serve as the Music Director. The Bridges of Madison County runs February 8-March 3, 2019 at Philadelphia Theatre Company's stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad Street. Featuring a book and lyrics by Lorick, music by Goggin, and directed and choreographed by Mark Martino, Johnny Manhattan played a successful engagement at the Meadow Brook Theater (Rochester Hills, MI) in September 2017. Performance rights for the new musical are now available through Samuel French, the world's premier theatrical publishing and licensing company.
