Burt Reynolds Institute to Present ALL ABOUT EVE at Lake Park Mirror Ballroom, 3/2

Saturday evening, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. actors from The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre (BRIFT) will enact All About Eve in much the same way as it was presented during the golden age of radio. Utilizing specially designed props and some traditional and not so traditional devices for sound effects, the performers will bring to life those days when radio was the dominant form of entertainment. And... to add to the fun, the audience becomes part of the show.

Earlier today, to mark the success of its Miami run, Cirque du Soleil's TOTEM invaded Bayside Market Place with one of its most praised and exciting acts, Unicycles and Bowls. To the delight of the surprised crowd, four Chinese acrobats rode 7-feet high unicycles as they juggled metal bowls in an astonishing demonstration of agility, balance and grace, sometimes tossing the bowls with their feet, over their shoulders and catching them on their heads. The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced that 14 year old Rhiannon Richards, a student in Todd Vittum's Improv for Young Actors class will be appearing in the Treasure Coast High School production of Little Women as Beth, the youngest of Louisa May Alcott's heroines in the much loved book of the same name. Rhiannon is a ninth grader at Treasure Coast High and has been acting for two years. Performance dates are Friday, February 1st, and Saturday, February 2nd in the high school auditorium. Tickets are only $10.00 each.
Regional Opera Company of the Week: Sarasota Opera

Sarasota Opera has a long history of bringing opera to the people along the Gulf Coast. Starting in 1960 when the group was called Asolo Opera Guild the company presented a touring chamber-sized company, Turnau Opera's productions in the 320 seat Asolo Theater at the Sarasota Ringling Museum of Art. Starting in 1973 the company began producing their own productions when they recognized the need for a theater more conducive to opera. The company bought the former A.B. Edwards Theater and began renovations in 1982. In 1984 the company, now being called Sarasota Opera, opened the Sarasota Opera House which is now on the National Register of Historic Places.

Miami Theater Center Announces Full Casting for THE LOVE OF THREE ORANGES

Miami Theater Center announces the addition of renowned performer Shaneeka Harrell to the cast of its production of The Love of Three Oranges. This colorful, dynamic interpretation of Count Carlo Gozzi's 18th-century tale was adapted by MTC Artistic Director Stephanie Ansin, who also directs this production. The performances, recommended for ages six and up, run from January 30, 2013 to March 10, 2013. All performances take place at MTC, located at 9806 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, FL 33138. WICKED Announces Lottery for $25 Seats at Broward County PAC, 1/30

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for WICKED, which is returning to Broward Center for the Performing Arts with performances from January 30th to February 17th. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Broward Center box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets.
