By:

City Theatre invites kids of all ages to come see SHORTS 4 KIDS at the Main Library in Ft. Lauderdale, July 17 &18, 2013. Performances are free and open to the public and will take place Wednesday July 17 at 1pm and 5pm and Thursday July 18 at 11am and 1pm at 100 S. Andrews Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale.

SHORTS 4 KIDS is a selection of 4 ten-minute short plays which are part of City Theatre's educational outreach programming. Aimed at bringing relevant short plays that appeal to young audiences in bite-size portions, this season's SHORTS 4 KIDS targets elementary and middle school students and will deal with issues of acceptance, differences and overcoming bullying. Following each performance, the City Theatre Acting Company consisting of talented young artists will take part in lively post-performance talk back with the children. The plays and talk back periods act as spring boards for further discussion of relevant issues effecting our youth today. SHORTS 4 KIDS just finished a successful tour in the Miami Dade County School system and will now be presented in Broward County with the support of the Carnival Foundation and The Broward County Board of County Commissioners.

SHORTS 4 KIDS 2013 is directed by Mcley Lafrance and includes: A Bunch of Clowns by Sandra Fenichel Asher, February 14: A Mockumentary and Wrigley's both by Mary Sansone, Regina Flector Wins the Science Fair by Marco Ramirez.
