PULSE Contemporary Art Fair is thrilled to announce an open call for submissions for PLAY at Miami Beach 2017. PLAY is PULSE's dedicated showcase for video and new media, serving as a platform at the fair to encourage discovery within the digital realm. Jasmine Wahi and Rebecca Pauline Jampol, Co-Founders and Directors of Project For Empty Space, will return as this year's curators. In October, Wahi and Jampol will host a month-long collaborative exhibition at Project for Empty Space showcasing the 2017 PLAY selections. This exhibition underscores PULSE's longstanding commitment to exploration both inside and beyond the fair setting, and creates an additional platform from which the selected works can be viewed.

New City Players presents the comedy Twelfth Night (also known as What You Will) by William Shakespeare published in his 1623 First Folio. The first recorded performance was on February 2, 1602, at Candlemas, the formal end of Christmastide in the year's calendar. The play expands on plot elements drawn from the short story Of Apollonius and Silla by Barnabe Rich, based on a story by Matteo Bandello. Observant theatre goers may recognize the exact same plot from movies such as Just One of the Guys (1985), and She's the Man (2006).

Arts organizations throughout the country are on a constant quest to attract newer, younger, and more diverse audiences while maintaining their longtime, loyal supporters. Palm Beach Dramaworks is no exception. For a while now, PBD has been running a Pay Your Age initiative on select Sunday evenings for anyone 40 and under. The response has been so strong that, beginning with the run of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd (July 14 - August 6), and continuing throughout the 2017 - 2018 season, Pay Your Age tickets will be available for all performances. Several additional outreach ventures are under consideration for the upcoming season as well.
