Dennis A. Bertram Solo Exhibition on View This Fall at the Cultural Council
The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County (601 Lake Avenue, Lake Worth) will present a solo exhibition of Dennis A. Bertram's work, on view September 30 through October 28, 2017.
Bertram received his doctoral degrees in medicine and public health and maintained positions at Johns Hopkins University and the State University of New York at Buffalo for most his life. Bertram did not start his formal art training until late in his academic career retiring from the SUNY at Buffalo in 2014. He paints in three distinct styles, all with geometric elements that imbue connection and relativity. His landscapes are washed over with gold leaf giving them a regal air. Bertram's "Skyships" contain figurative components that have become defaced and nearly destroyed. The Cultural Council is the official support agency for arts and culture for Palm Beach County serving non-profit organizations, individual artists and arts districts. The Council promotes the county's cultural experiences through an integrated program of advertising, public relations and marketing activities to both visitors and residents.
