Palm Beach Idol Talent Show Held 7/24

By: Jul. 02, 2010

The auditions are over. The performers have been chosen. And Palm Beach Idols is set to showcase some of South Florida's finest talent. After a day in which more than 90 local performers auditioned to be the next Palm Beach Idols, the Guild announced that 24 acts will entertain at the group's annual Palm Beach Idols talent show, scheduled for July 24.

"We are amazed at the range of talent in our area," said Eileen Weissmann, co-producer of Palm Beach Idols and a member of the audition panel.

The Guild is a group of theatre lovers who raise money to support the Conservatory of Performing Arts and other theatre needs. But the group likes to entertain the community - even while it is raising money.

Palm Beach Idols auditions brought in a wealth of singers, dancers, and comedians of all ages.

"We think we chose the best of the best, from a 9-year-old country singer to an interpreter of modern dance," Weissmann said. "It's a cliché, but there truly is something for everyone to enjoy."

Palm Beach Idols will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 24, at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Tickets are $25.

Ticket sales from the show will benefit the Maltz Jupiter Theatre Conservatory of Performing Arts, and will provide scholarships and help purchase new equipment to further the Conservatory's mission of providing high-quality arts education experiences in a positive, safe, and supportive environment. For tickets, call (561) 575-2223 or visit www.jupitertheatre.org.
