A captivating showcase of contemporary ballet featuring all-new choreography, set in the 180-seat Frost Studio Theater for an up-close experience. This year's choreographers include Kansas City Ballet Company Artists Angelin Currant, Amira Hogan, and Elliott Rogers; Kansas City-based choreographers Olivia Emert and Caroline Dahm; Colorado-based choreographer Morgan Sicklick; and Artistic Director Devon Carney, creating for the Second Company. The production allows audiences to experience the next generation of visionary choreographers pushing the boundaries of expression through bold, athletic, and passionate new dance works.

Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the choreographers chosen for New Moves, a unique performance event designed to search out, develop and showcase emerging choreographers, both from the national dance scene as well as locally within Kansas City Ballet. New provides time and space for choreographers to create world premiere works with accomplished professional dancers. New Moves features the works of choreographers Melissa Gelfin, Rasta Thomas, Melody Mennite, KCB Company Ballet Master Parrish Maynard and Dancers Christopher Costantini, Emily Mistretta, Courtney Nitting and James Kirby Rogers.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the company's 2020-2021 season, which opens with Michael Pink's mesmerizing Dracula, continues with Devon Carney's world premiere choreography for the romantic and comedic Cinderella, and closes with George Balanchine's three-part masterpiece, Jewels. The season also includes the annual and always highly anticipated return of The Nutcracker and the intimately intense dance experience known as New Moves.
