KC Rep Adds Performance To VENICE 5/9

By: May. 05, 2010

Due to high demand for tickets, Kansas City Repertory Theatre has added an additional May 9 performance for its hit musical VENICE, now running at Copaken Stage. Sunday, May 9, 8 p.m. will be the final performance for the show that has received outstanding public and critical acclaim.
There is also a 10 p.m. performance on Saturday, May 8 which will offer free pizza before the show and sell selected beverages for $2. The late-night performance is sponsored by Ink magazine and pizza is provided by Johnny's Tavern in the Power and Light District.

VENICE is a ripped-from-the-headlines story of war, love and the ultimate quest for peace, told through a dynamic mix of musical genres, including hip-hop, R&B and traditional theatre music. Two brothers are in conflict over how to save their city from a terrorist war - one brother seeks peace while the other is mired in treachery and destruction. Given a contemporary setting, VENICE brings the theatricality of hip-hop to a large-cast musical.

VENICE now closes on May 9, after the 8 p.m. performance at Kansas City Rep's Copaken Stage located at 14th and Main streets, Kansas City, Missouri. Tickets are $15-$50. For more information about ticketing and show specifics, please call the Rep's box office, 816-235-2700, or visit www.KCRrep.org.
