Shadow Theatre Company Opens SanKofa Season with INNOCENT THOUGHTS 9/23

Shadow Theater Company opens it's 11th Season, entitled "SanKofa", with Innoncent Thoughts, a play by William Missouri Downs and directed by Hugo Sayles.

A dramedy. Arlen Weinberg, a Jewish anthropologist, is called to be an expert witness in a murder trial. The accused: a white police officer. His alleged crime: killing a black man 20 years earlier and burying the body in his basement.

When Arlen arrives, he is shocked to discover that the defense lawyer is black. Ira Altridge is that black lawyer and he's not having a good day.

Soon, the men discover they know each other, having both grown up in the same suburb of Chicago. Ira was a gang member who often preyed on Jewish boys and Arlen was the perfect target. Soon, their childhoods, cultures, and convictions come into conflict leading each to question the other's integrity.

Starring in this production of Innocent Thoughts are S.B. Neilson as Arlen Weinberg and KW Brock Johnson as Ira Altridge.

Innocent Thoughts was the first play produced by Shadow Theatre Company when it was launched in 1997 by founder Jeffrey Nicholson. It promises to be a great production this time as well.
