The Hartt School Community Division of the University of Hartford will host a Magical Dance Tea Party for children ages 3 through 9 and their families. The free event will occur on Saturday, September 25, from 2:00 PM through 3:30 PM at the Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway (at the corner of Albany Avenue) in Hartford. For more information or to make a reservation for the party, contact the Hartt Community Division Dance Department at 860.768.6000 or e-mail dancedesk@hartford.edu.
Activities will include a free dance class, an elegant tea (juice) party, crafts, and the opportunity for children to have their photos taken with the Sugar Plum Fairy, star of The Nutcracker ballet. In addition, children will receive balloons, a discount certificate for Community Division dance classes, and other free gifts. Children will get to experience the joy of a children's ballet class and parents will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of the Hartt Community Division's professional dance faculty. The Handel Performing Arts Center is located less than a mile east of the main University of Hartford campus and features state-of-the-art dance studios and theater space, free parking, the stylish Backstage Café, and a People's United Bank branch. The Hartt Community Division currently is registering students of all ages for its music, dance, and theatre programs for the 2010-2011 school year.
