The Cleveland Orchestra, conducted by Tito Muñoz, will perform its 33rd annual concert in celebration of the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. The concert will feature the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Chorus (a 125-member volunteer chorus from the greater Cleveland community) and the Central State University Chorus, both prepared by William Henry Caldwell, and Sphinx Competition prizewinner Adé Williams as violin soloist.

The University of Akron's Center for Conflict Management and Akron's Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC) presents The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts national tour of WARRIORS DON'T CRY, sponsored by AETNA. An adaptation of the award-winning (American Library Association Award, 1995 Nonfiction Book of the Year; Robert F. Kennedy Book Award) memoir of the same name, authored by Dr. Melba Pattillo Beals, this newly produced one-woman performance comes to The Balch Street Theatre, 220 South Balch Street, Akron, OH, 44302 for two public performances on January 17 and 18, 2013 at 7:30pm.

All performances of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL (January 15-27, 2013), will now be held in the State Theatre (originally scheduled and ticketed to play the Palace). In addition, the opening night performance on TUESDAY, JANUARY 15 will have a new 8:00 p.m. curtain time. This time change is for opening night ONLY. All other performances will begin at their normally scheduled times. All current ticket holders will receive new tickets by mail prior to their ticketed performance.

School of Music Presents Guest Artist Concert with Joel Hastings, Carter Pann, 1/16

Steinway artist Joel Hastings, assistant professor of piano at Florida State University, and winner of the 1993 International Bach Competition at the Kennedy Center, will present the music of Carter Pann in a guest artist series concert at 8 pm Wednesday, January 16, in Weigel Auditorium, 1866 College Rd. Composer, pianist, and Grammy Award nominee Carter Pann teaches composition at the University of Colorado and will join Hastings on the program, entitled "The Piano's 12 Sides: The Piano Music of Carter Pann."

Due to popular demand, Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience - A Parody by Dan and Jeff has been confirmed for a second performance date at PlayhouseSquare on Thursday, January 31, 2013! Written and performed by former BBC Television hosts Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, Potted Potter takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing, or 'potting', all seven Harry Potter books into 70 madcap minutes, aided only by multiple costume changes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic. The show also invites audiences to engage with a real life game of Quidditch, but according to Clarkson and Turner's unique set of rules.

Ensemble Theatre and Convergence Continuum Team for SWAN Day, 3/30

On Saturday, March 30, 2013, the east side's Ensemble Theatre and the west side's Convergence Continuum will host Northeast Ohio's contribution to the sixth annual SWAN Day, an international celebration of women in the arts. Here in the 4th-largest theater-producing area in the USA, SWAN Day CLE - 2013 will be staging readings of short plays to raise awareness and to celebrate women playwrights, directors, and actors.
