PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ Two clever drinking buddies, a hatred of warm beer and some joint compound combined to create a product that will change the world as we know it (for slow beer drinkers) the Beer Blizzard. A reusable ice cube shaped like the bottom of a beer can, made from thermoplastic polyurethane and filled with a non-toxic, quick-freezing fluid, the Beer Blizzard ensures ice cold beer stays ice cold from the first sip to the last.

Inventors Mike Robb and Tom Osborne took their brainchild to Kickstarter, the world's largest funding platform for creative projects, with a funny video and an initial funding goal of $5,000. The duo's 45-day campaign to raise money to help with equipment costs, tooling and their first large-scale production run launched on April 25, 2014, and their funding goal was achieved in a mere four days. And, their video has been seen nearly 3 million times.

"We know warm beer sucks," Robb, president and CEO, acknowledged. "But we had no idea that the Beer Blizzard would generate so much excitement this quickly. In just two and a half weeks, we have accrued more than $25,000 from nearly 1,200 backers. We're clearly onto something!"

To ensure ice cold beer, simply place a frozen Beer Blizzard in the bottom of a KOOZIE followed by the beverage. The Beer Blizzard is molded to fit any can, including the non-alcoholic variety, and efficiently cools glass bottles, water bottles and sports drinks as well. In addition to use with a KOOZIE, the reusable ice cube can sit beneath any canned beverage, serving as a condensation-free coaster.

With backers from all 50 states and 25 countries, Robb and Osborne have instituted stretch goals in the Kickstarter campaign. With each stretch goal met, backers accumulate more Beer Blizzard ice cubes, KOOZIES and swag. With the funding goal met, all campaign backers should expect delivery of their Beer Blizzard products in late-June. The campaign officially ends June 9, 2014.
