Dance Your Purpose at Jacob's Pillow

Dance Your Purpose is Jacob's Pillow's inaugural winter dance intensive led by Program Director Maleek Washington, taking place from January 5 to January 11, 2026. This program invites emerging dance makers and artists aged 18-25 to explore multi-genre dance techniques through choreographic workshops, guest artist seminars, and collaborative projects. Acclaimed faculty members Rena Butler, Tamisha Guy, and Mike Tyus will join Washington to guide participants in defining their unique artistic voices and fostering community connections within the dance world. The immersive experience includes access to the Jacob's Pillow Archives and culminates in a short film documenting the participants’ growth.
