Inspired by the current political climate, Suffolk University Theatre Professor Wesley Savick brings a new musical to the Modern Theatre, one state, two state / red state, blue state. The musical features new songs in the indigenous American languages of folk, country, blues, jazz and Broadway. The story focuses on what happens when "Betty" and "Bill" - former lovers living on opposite sides of the country - rekindle their relationship after a long separation.

Lane to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the 500 seat theater dedicated in their name. The event included a reception on the theater's stage with the couple and UMass Lowell VIPs and community arts leaders. The evening ended with a BroadwayHD screening.

Jacob's Pillow Announces Recipient of New Annual Fellowship In Partnership With Tilles Center

Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, Artistic Director of Ephrat Asherie Dance, is awarded the inaugural Jacob's Pillow Fellowship at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post. The fellowship includes a $15,000 grant, a one-week residency at Jacob's Pillow's new Pillow Lab, and a residency at LIU Tilles Center. Executive Vice Chairman Roger Tilles was integral in making this new partnership between Jacob's Pillow and Long Island University possible.

The Capitol Steps return to Hampshire County or their first performance since 2010. They last played the Academy of Music in 2009. The political musical satire troupe has been a national institution for over 35 years, providing a unique blend of musical and political comedy and satire to audiences coast-to-coast.. Each show consists of tasteful lampooning guaranteed to leave both sides of the political spectrum laughing. The troupe started in 1981. Since then, they have appeared on "The Today Show," "ABC News Nightline," "CBS Evening News" and on specials for NPR.

BTG Presents 'Berkshire Theatre Through The Eras' Free Exhibit At The Stockbridge Library

Featuring photographs, letters, posters, props, and costume pieces, this exhibit chronicles the 90-year history of Berkshire Theatre through each of its distinct eras. Lillian Lee, Berkshire Theatre Group's Grants Administrator and Archivist, is planning the main exhibit with Barbara Allen, Curator of the Stockbridge Library, Museum & Archives, curating a portion of the exhibit highlighting the building's life as The Stockbridge Casino.

Right about now, we can all use a shot of humor, and whether one is gay or straight, there's much to recognize and connect with in the quotidian routines of these characters. In his first play, Mark Gerrard puts the spotlight on four good friends who face the challenges of kids, in-laws, boredom, infidelity, and mortality with various strategies and mixed results.

25 Students To Compete In The Massachusetts State Finals Of POETRY OUT LOUD

Twenty-five students from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts advanced from this weekend's four regional semi-final contests of the 13th annual Poetry Out Loud National Recitation Contest to compete in the State Finals on Sunday, March 11 at the Old South Meeting House (310 Washington Street, Boston). The event begins at 9:30am and is free and open to the public. The Huntington Theatre Company's Department of Education has facilitated the Massachusetts chapter of this national contest in partnership with the Mass Cultural Council since its inception 13 years ago.
