I want to say Break a Leg to everyone performing tonight and to the audiences who get to sit there and experience the house lights going down for the first time...Im damn jealous. I hope theres lots of curtain speech videos later tonight!

I echo it all! Would love to hear people's experiences if anyone happens to be going! :)
For those interested. Jetblue sent me an email today with a fare sale from NYC to London roundtrip for in the $500s for their basic fare. I haven't been to London in a while, but that fare seems really good.
That’s odd. We’re not on the UK’s green list so people (as of right now) still have to quarantine for 10 days, with the possibility of stopping after 5 days/negative test. That’s what I’m doing in a few weeks when I go unless they change it. But it’s odd for an airline to be promoting airfare to a place you can’t “freely” go to.
Also - the EU announced today that vaccinated Americans can travel again so the UK really needs to make sure they update their travel list and get some of these tourism dollars this summer.

Yes. I deleted the email so can't give you specifics. I only checked fares for September and October, but it looked like they had it for June and on. Not being in a while, is that a low fare?
Any recommendations for things currently on? Seems a little bit of a soft reopen.
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
I wouldn't recommend Prince of Egypt to my worst enemy. But yeah it is a soft opening, only the tourist traps and the McMusicals are (or are going to be) back on. The Old Vic's new season is pretty exciting, but it won't start before September and Anything Goes won't open before a month either. Probably Hairspray will be the nicest thing in town. And I know loads of people who can't wait to see Linzi Hateley's return to Joseph. There's a new play with Simon Russell Beale as Bach opening at the Bridge in a month, I'd love to see it if I were in London.
AMÉLIE will start performances again in a couple days, I'm hoping to get out and see that one. I'm a bit busy the next couple months so we'll see, but for sure this July I'm going to see two productions of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC. One in Buxton, and one in Leeds, literally a day apart! Not West End, but they're decent profile productions! The one in Buxton has Janie Dee as Desiree!
I just watched "Herding Cats" streaming from the Soho Theatre on Stellar. It was a really moving play and the performances are excellent (with one actor streaming in live from the US!). Not quite back to the norm just yet but wow does it feel good to see something new/live again!
Yes! Cheers to all our mates across the pond! Though some of the shows I want to see won't open for a bit- I can't wait for Back to the Future and Joseph with Linzi Hateley to open and hear what people think!

I agree, although the same could be said about allowing vaccinated Brits to travel to the USA!
