Shrek 2 The musical Aug 6

I’m sure he’s not planning on getting it produced/published without permission. Just going the route of MFL, though correct me if I’m wrong in thinking that’s okay. I realize that what happened with MFL was odd and from a different time.

Violetblows up--literally. Her costume expands like in the movies, she goes offstage and then blows up and her father, who was at the edge of the stage is showered with her guts. It's not gory--but it's purple stuff ,ribbons and fab

Edit: Sorry, just finished reading the first page of this thread... where I should have started...
Mamma Mia-- CHER we go again!!! Jul 24

I caught this last week and had an enjoyable time. I love Mamma Mia for all its fluffy fun, and this was certainly a nice follow up!
When it was fun, it was really fun! But I agree with the other users that said they found most present scenes to be real downers... As a result I didn’t find this movie to be something that I’d rewatch too often. It’s wonderful, it really is, even with its flaws, but it was also a little too sad for a light comedy. The scene at the very end was indeed ver

I’m very curious/excited to see how this goes, but I don’t want to let my hopes get too high up.

Of course, the obvious song is “Send in the Clowns”. I mean, duh! It’s got “Clowns” in the title...
Has any high school 'made up a show'? Jul 24

Assuming most high schools have an improv club, and that most of those improv clubs put on improv shows, then it’s not too much of a stretch to believe that high schoolers have made up shows, is it?
Why? Well, why does anyone participate in the arts?
Why not? Well, why does anyone not participate in the arts?

I believe what the poster meant by “The little show that could.” was that people had low expectations for the show, and it wound up being very well received. I don’t think they were saying that the show was small in scale and was a hit.

I feel so embarrassed to say that when I was at last able to make my trip to NYC, I passed on this show simply because I had such big doubts about its quality.
Then I got home and read reviews and found out it was considered by many to be an outstandingly creative show... I regret missing this show very much and will try to keep a more open mind when I’m able to go back someday. Lesson learned.
I truly wish the best for all those involved. And Ellie, please keep in mind that w
Cabaret as originally written and revised is already universal and symbolic enough that a production like that would make it too non-subtle. I see where you’re coming from, but part of Cabaret’s brilliance is its setting in pre WWII Germany.
It’s been a few weeks, but here was my impression.
I finally saw this production and it was also my very first time seeing this show. I saw it Wednesday, March 21 at the 2:00pm matinee. I won’t try to write a review, as everything has already been said by others here.
All I can truly say - please, forgive my over the top emotions - is that I feel as though I have been changed by this show. I’ve never f
I remember seeing an ad for this at our PAC, it’s playing for an oddly short run (even in Alaska the standard is an eight-performance show-week). It’s only playing May 25-27 in Achoeage and then June 9th and 10th in Juneau.
Kind of funny to see it being discussed here, as Alaska’s theatre scene is so distant from the rest of the U.S. We rarely get an equity tour, is usually just non-equity and stock regional. Lots of new works too, but rarely s
My friend’s son is in a high school production of Anything Goes and he is apparently feeling worse and worse after every rehearsal. He made himself familiar with the piece long before auditions in preparation and became quite a fan.
He now feels guilty being involved with the show after being cast as one of the male leads because the show has been horribly rewritten. He mentioned to the directors that the chan

I’m so very thrilled to say that this show will be my first true Broadway show! Of course I’ve seen tours and a few West End shows, but Hello, Dolly! will be my first true show on the Great White Way!
Now, to my main point... I have a couple seating options that I’d like to get some opinions on. I can get Left Orch Row F Seats 1 and 2, or, Center Mezz Row B Seats 108 and 109.
I’m really not sure how to take in this show, close up or back a bit. I know either way I’ll have a bla
Last year Jorge asked about the orchestrations, and now I'm curious as well as to if they have altered them. The show opens it's tour this year in my city and I'm a season subscriber so of course, I'm seeing it. I really enjoy the orchestrations in the OBCR so I'd be disappointed if it's too different. Is there anything else not previously mentioned that was scaled back? It's in my city for a full performance week so I shou
I never saw the show on Broadway, or in it's Denver run, or even it's latest tour, but I did see a local production which used the new format and I'm also very familiar with the OBCR.
Personally, I really liked most of the additional songs. They felt really unnecessary, and yes, some songs felt out of place, but there were some really nice ones in there!
I loved Sweet Child and it's reprise, I thought Her Voice was stunning, and If Only and it's man
