Im talking off broadway, pre broadway, or London transfers.

I think for me it clearly comes down to 2 choices. Fairview, and The Inheritance. Fairview I've heard may not be able to be replicated on a proscenium stage, but I am so intrigued by this show and really hope to catch it this summer after it just extended. The Inheritance, pretty much speaks for itself. New, award winning 7 and a half hour drama about being a gay man in NYC? Sign me tf up. How about you guys?

"Listen up let me tell you a stoooryyyy".

But other than that one, it would be Everybody's Talking About Jamie.

You might be in luck with The Inheritance - just seen a casting call for it in 2019/20!

I'm in London so my answers would obviously be different (I think we're getting Fairview at the Young Vic in November, actually!), but Everybody's Talking About Jamie would be a fun Broadway transfer; it's very popular over here.

There's always transfers from Broadway to the West End, but if we could have Hadestown back soon, that'd be good...

Hoping Six makes the transfer too, Yvan, even if it doesn't though it'll be in Boston this summer so you should be able to catch it! I think its doing well on the west end though, so wouldn't be shocking if it makes its way to Bway.

SO happy to hear about The Inheritance casting notice!! I figured as much, but still to get some sort of confirmation is really nice. Also big on the Lehman Trilogy, I believe its already rumored to play Lincoln Center after My Fair Lady wraps up this July.

For me, it would definitely be the Company revival. Of all the shows in talks for a transfer, it's the only one I really have an interest in seeing, that I haven't seen already.

I hope Inheritance comes too, but I don't feel as much of a personal investment in it since it's new, and I just don't know the play.

I'd be curious to see Jamie transfer just so I can know what all the fuss is about, but it doesn't look very good to me. I was just in London for a theatre trip, but given my limited number of slots, Jamie was one of the first things I cut from my list.

I've been lucky enough to see have already seen Fairview, Lehman Trilogy,  Six, Girl From the North Country, and Secret Life of Bees, so I don't really feel like I have a personal stake in their potential transfers. But I wouldn't be disappointed if any of them did. I particularly think Girl From the North Country and Secret Life of Bees deserve to go to Broadway.

As long as I'm already making a post on this general topic, I just want to take another opportunity to say that I'm still disappointed that Beast in the Jungle wasn't well-received enough to warrant a transfer. I loved that show a lot, and I think it could have worked well on Broadway.

Since Inheritance, Lehman Trilogy, Jungle, Jamie, and Secret Life of Bees are obvious and most-likely, my one personal choice would definitely be Ride The Cyclone. An awesome opportunity for that small, original, thrill of a musical to make a splash in a season of jukebox fluff.

I really hope Marianne Elliot’s Death of a Salesman comes over here. Don’t see it playing Bway, but maybe St Ann’s or BAM. Count me in for The Inheritance, Company and Dreamgirls. There’s so many amazing play revivals over there too that i would love to see come to NY as well, but they seem unlikely. Betrayal, Night of the Iguana, Equus I also know this is near impossible with the Yiddish production currently running here, but I’d love to see Trevor Nunns Fiddler. I heard It’s sublime

The first two times I read this sentence I thought you meant that there was a Yiddish production of Equus running here, and I'm like "sign me up! Where is it playing?"

Company for musicals (preferably with the full cast) and The Inheritance for plays.

Oh boy. There's so much here.
- Sutton's Sweet Charity
- Company revival (starring Sutton if #1 doesn't happen, or Kate Baldwin, or SJB, or Lena Hall)
- Follies revival, recast again with some big NYC names (Christine Baranski for Carlotta?)
- Marie, Dancing Still. Caught this in Seattle recently, and while I didn't particularly like Terrence Mann in it, I think this musical really has the potential to be something great.

Do we think Slave Play has a chance?

I've just got to say, it's so interesting reading everyone's responses to this! I'm used to hearing discussions about which Broadway shows should transfer to the West End, so hearing the other side of the conversation feels nice.

I have a feeling Marianne Elliott's Company will get over to New York at some point - hopefully, anyway. And if some of the West End cast are free, all the better (especially Jonathan Bailey, who was amazing).

I don’t see Slave Play transferring.

I think it was even a bit of a long shot back in the fall - but they had a brief moment where they could strike when the iron was hot, and it didn’t happen.

Also, I think the fact that NYTW had two hot shows running simultaneously made some people feel like it was either/or, and they went with the safer option of Constitution.

Of course, it’s never really a strict either/or. They could have transferred both if the interested producers really wanted to. And maybe they still could transfer it. But as we all know, off-Broadway to Broadway transfers have a lot to do with buzz. And Skave Play had its moment of buzz, which has now faded.

In fact, that could be said of several other shows in this thread too.

Maggie Smith in A German Life. I couldn't fit it into my recent London schedule and I've heard nothing but raves about her AND the play.

Side note - someone involved with The True from The New Group hinted that it was looking to transfer, but that's before Edie Falco booked her new LAPD show. So maybe still for late spring or summer 2020?

Id also absolutely love Marianne Elliot's Death Of A Salesman to transfer. Have never seen or read that historic play, and this production seems like a near perfect first experience with the piece. Out of all shows Ive never seen or read, Salesman is clearly #1 for the classics. Cant wait to see my first Arthur Miller play on Bway in just a few weeks!!

I really want The Lehman Trilogy to transfer. I've just recently started getting into plays (as opposed to musicals) on Broadway, and I've heard, like, Ferryman-level things about The Lehman Trilogy.

Would love a Company, Six, or Lempicka transfer.

Would also just LOVE a production of the “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” musical. Perhaps off-bway at second stage?
