WOW, this is a mess Mar 14

I don’t know that the show needs work. I think the show is exactly what it wants it to be. If you’re familiar with Taylor Mac’s work, this is exactly the kind of stuff that judy does. I really appreciated that it was not toned down for Broadway audiences.

I’d say 17 and up. Kind of like an R rated movie.
And not at all like Tom Stoppard. This play is in a league all its own. The closest comparison I can think of is Ionesco.

I think as much as they want Kristine to be considered for featured by placing her name below the title, I think the nominating committee will put her in for lead as they really are co-leads.
Started about 10 minutes late and we were out by 9:50 so about 1:40 but it’ll get shorter

First preview just got out and I have to say besides for a few line flubs, this show is in excellent shape. Nathan Lane is incredible as always. Kristine Does absolutely remarkable work and I truly commend her for learning all of that in a week. It is not an easy feat and she did a remarkable job. And Julie White is a lock for a featured actress nob, hysterical and hilarious.
I understand the play won’t be everyone’s taste as it is truly an absurdist comedy, but it presents a lot of q

Last week was Presidents’ Day Weekend so some families took a long weekend which helped some shows find a midwinter bump and now we’re back to normal.

I saw the show tonight and thought it was a beautiful and charming little musical. Is it God’s gift to musical theatre? No. But I had a good time. I thought the score was pretty good and the book was strong. The performers truly elevate this piece with Kate Baldwin giving a masterclass performance and Kyle McArthur giving an incredible debut. I was expecting the worst based on early reports from here but I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it and it seemed like the audience was havi

I almost think that George has done the song so many times but Troy is still making discoveries in it so it feels fresh. It’s a different take on Michael that I enjoy, Troy seems more fragile and I think he’s easier to empathize with.

I enjoyed the show Off-Broadway and was in midtown today and snagged a rush ticket around 2.
And while not a perfect show by any means, it’s a lot of fun and sends a great message. I was also surprised at how good Act II was as a whole. Just solidly built and fast moving with great songs and staging.
Today’s show started about 7 minutes late and let out at around 10:40 so it is getting tighter and shorter but honestly the time flew by.
Also, it’s great to go to the t

BREAKING IN THE BRIEFING: Be More Chill broke the house record at The Lyceum Theatre for a seven-performance week with a gross of $738,383.50, surpassing the previous record held by the 2008 production of Macbeth, which grossed $584,033, according to reps for the show.
I think people may be underestimating this show

CHOIR BOY Love Feb 6

I am so glad you said this! I feel the exact same way. TKAM and Network are both timeless dramatic stories dramatized well and The Ferryman is a very solid play but it isn’t really pushing boundaries as far as content goes.
Choir Boy has the perfect mix of incredible performances, impeccable playwriting, and timely and contemporary themes. It is a truly exciting American play filled with joy, humor, love, and sadness. I really hope they give this play the love it deserves.
