Plus, Urinetown won best Score Tony with a song titled 'Cop Song'...because it is a song that all the cops sing..., if 'Acceptance Song' is the appropriate song title, what is the issue?
I'm really hoping this one can pull off a Gentleman's Guide-esque run if it is the charming musical comedy it is seeming to be.
When reading the original post I had the same thought.. $400 for partial view sounds ridiculous (because it IS..). HOWEVER, I did a quick search on Ticketmaster for March, April and May and the low end of resale for C 17 and C 19 was $376 per ticket, plus fees, so the $400 isn't too far off what has become going rate for those seats.
A quick check of StubHub and Ticketmaster for tonight shows 110 available tix, 8% of the available Richard Rodgers Inventory of 1344. with

That would seem to be true for Harry Potter - which saw their gross drop by $450K but their capacity remain at 100%. But for Wicked, there was a 20% drop in attendance but only a $150K drop in Gross. If the 2-for-1 were putting butts in seats at all theatres, then the Wicked capacity would be up n

It is true that there were no people of color in the show (unfortunate, as it would have been so easy to cast), but while the show waspro-military personnel, it was not about nationalism. Not at all. Also, it doesn't really seem like a lot of Trump supporters are very sympathetic to sufferers of PTSD. After all, t
It was announced today that the Dolby Theatre in LA will be a touring venue in 2020.. Timing seems to line up for Hamilton to move its sit down to LA after a year in SF.. (also probably why Frozen is launching with a long Fall of 2019 Tour Stop at the Pantages..?)
If I remember correctly this also happened during a recent long term stay for Wicked at the Pantages.
Has anyone seen a small scale tour at the Dolby? I'd imagine the bigger shows (Lion King, Aladdin, Wicked)
I caught Bull Durham in Atlanta in 2014, if all of this has given the creative team time to work on the show/score and hopefully do some recasting.. (I like Melissa Errico, but I'd like to see someone brassier as Annie..) This could be a fun addition to the 2018-2019 season.
I was back and forth between Lady in the Dark and Best Foot Forward, but taking into consideration WW2, I went with the idea that the happier musical comedy would win over the darker, seemingly ahead-of-its-time Lady in the Dark.
Brigadoon was one of the first classics I learned when I was in a community theatre production as a teenager and is a sentimental favorite, tho I do also love Finian's..
I loved the tour.. the white brick wall that was in for the NYC and Diner scenes was lifted to flat from the floor upstage where the wall then became the ceiling of the Parlor set, the wall piece's floor side (where the 2 doors are), was then the upstage ceiling in the Parlor, which then created a rectangular box set. The bench that was used in the Diner/Ring of Keys scene stayed downstage center, becoming the Car
It looks like MadonnaMusical meant the small towns that are announced on the tour schedule in this press release.. Easton, PA, Morristown, NJ etc.. Not referring to Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, etc..
There are plenty of similar sized tour markets in TX that could be on this itinerary (there are a few gaps in dates in April and all of May, so they may show up if Big League and its bookers can come to terms with any of them..) Corpus Christi, Harlingen, Katy, El Paso, Austi

Exactly. Some Arenas and local presenters are better at creating a "Theatre" within the arena by hanging Black drapes around the arena to cut off the side being used for audience seating and the backstage area. Some arenas do not put in the time an
When a tour plays an "Arena Show" there are major modifications to most of the tour sets so that the show can play in the venue. The department most directly affected by this is the fly plot. Any tour that relies heavily in flying in set pieces and drops will look bare and sparse. These modifications are needed due to the ceiling rig in arenas not having the same tech capabilities of a stage house. Tours like Annie and 42nd St. that will rely heavily on

How is this even remotely like that? This is a fully staged, projection filled number with a very expensive Swarovski drape.
Well, my point was that just because the show has started previews (in

The back wall of the St. James, not the Palace..
...but Yes, I agree, I was hoping for a Pride Rock-esque staircase unit to elevate
I seem to recall reading somewhere here on the interwebs that they didn't want to proceed with this plan while the Marriott EDITION hotel was under construction on the North-West corner of 47th and 7th (701 7th Ave, or 20 Times Square). Traffic and congestion in that area will be dreadful until that hotel project is completed (allegedly later this year), adding the Palace Project to that would make 7th Avenue basically not passable, and with Broadway closed through Tim
You would be surprised how much it costs to rent a Charter Bus in some markets.
On a recent tour we were flown between 2 cities in the same state, which we have always traveled the easy- one day (about 5 hours)- drive on a bus because the cost of flying everyone on an airline like Southwest, booking early and with a group rate, where all checked bags are free, was still significantly cheaper than it would have cost for a Bus.

If only it were the 2002 Into the Woods revival touring instead of the pared down, experimental Fiasco production. I ma
