Now that we know that My Fair Lady is following in the footsteps of the triumphant The King and I (2015) and South Pacific (2008)...

What are some other musicals you'd love to see Bart Sher and Lincoln Center remount in the Vivian Beaumont in the future?

Off the top of my head, I'd be interested to see their take on The Sound of Music and maybe The Music Man. If they wanted to take on a little edgier text, West Side Story could be incredible there, too.

I can't wait for that O'Hara/Benanti Follies in about ten years.

I'd love to see them do a Sondheim.

I would love to see Sher do Into the Woods at the Beaumont.

God, yes.

Me too! But I'm having a hard time thinking of another Sondheim that Lincoln Center Theater would reasonably produce other than Follies. But Into the Woods would be incredible there.

Unfortunately I don’t know about the actual likelyhood of most of these actually being possibilities but: The Secret Garden, Ragtime, Les Mis, Miss Saigon, Hunchback, and Titanic! Would love to see a full blown, grandiose, non stripped down Sweeney Tood revival as well, though it definitely will need a rest after the current off Broadway production closes. I’d also like LCT to maybe produce another original musical again as well!

Because of his crossover success in the world of opera, I wonder if he might be the right person to take on Candide. Of course, there's no version of the book that truly works, and it's not necessarily the most commercial title for a Broadway run, and the vocal demands prevent star casting.

I would love to see his takes on NineA Little Night Music, and Evita. And considering how great South Pacific and The King & I were, it would be exciting to see him take on all of R&H's big 5.

Beyond the realm of musicals, I know that when he was artistic director of the Intimaan, he did a lot of Chekhov. I would love to see him take on any of those plays, but especially The Seagull.

Follies, A Little Night Music, Candide, Brigadoon, Camelot, and Into The Woods would be absolutely perfect for a Bartlett Sher revival at the Vivian Beaumont.

I worked In close vicinity to Bart Sher two years ago and I distincty heard (eavesdropped?) him talking to someone saying he wants to direct Follies one day.

I think they should consider a production of On Your Toes - it has been 35 years since the last revival. And I even have an idea for casting - recently retired ABT prime Diana Vishneva as Vera.

I don't know if Bart Sher is the right director for this, but I've always thought the Beaumont would be a really interesting space for Damn Yankees.  I mean, if you think about it, a thrust stage is pretty ideal for a baseball diamond.

Now that there is absolutely no doubt Bart is a magic maker when it comes to existing material,  producers should ABSOLUTELY green light his version of Funny Girl. Thats a show we haven't seen on Broadway  in years and if anyone could work out it's problematic book and getting a performance out of someone who isn't just a Streisand impersonator its him. We should have gotten this years ago. Hopefully we'll get it now.

I would love to see him tackle Caroline, or Change only because I want to see Caroline, or Change on Broadway again.
