Wow. Pretty much every show down this week. Before anyone asks, the drop in Waitress is because Jason had planned absences out of the show (either 2 or 3 this week).
Rough week! I suspect Dolly is going to drop below 1 million next week. We urgently need warm weather and tourists!
"You can't overrate Bernadette Peters. She is such a genius. There's a moment in "Too Many Mornings" and Bernadette doing 'I wore green the last time' - It's a voice that is just already given up - it is so sorrowful. Tragic. You can see from that moment the show is going to be headed into such dark territory and it hinges on this tiny throwaway moment of the voice." - Ben Brantley (2022)
"Bernadette's whole, stunning performance [as Rose in Gypsy] galvanized the actors capable of letting loose with her. Bernadette's Rose did take its rightful place, but too late, and unseen by too many who should have seen it" Arthur Laurents (2009)
"Sondheim's own favorite star performances? [Bernadette] Peters in ''Sunday in the Park,'' Lansbury in ''Sweeney Todd'' and ''obviously, Ethel was thrilling in 'Gypsy.'' Nytimes, 2000
The mezz is almost completely empty for tonight. Unless they can sell a lot of last-minute tickets at TKTS, I’m worried!

That has to be the first time BOM has dropped below a million dollars in a while!
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

You mean tomorrow? I don't think theres a performance tonight. But yes. Dolly has some very scary weeks ahead. If you look at telecharge it is as if there is very little advance sale.
Yes tomorrow. Sorry I’m now back in a different time zone haha.

Wicked’s numbers are also hilariously mediocre. I guess it’s just that’s time of year (looking back they did similar numbers - the next two weeks are killer).

With all the money Bette took in for the box office, do we really need to worry about "Hello Dolly"? You can't tell me the producers didn't make a nice piece of change on the original revival cast, and about able to plow through the deep cold in the winter. Am I missing something?

Why loose the money when you can keep it? And not worried. It is not my money. Just observing and discussing.
BOM hasn't been below $1 million since previews. The demand has been gone for a while with newer shows taking the spotlight (Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen). Certain shows can't have much longer.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

SmokeyLady, I agree with you. I just don't understand sometimes when some people make out the grosses and ticket sales for "Hello Dolly" that of "Soul Doctor" or "Home for the Holidays".

My uneducated prediction for Hello Dolly is that it will struggle along till the end of Bernadette's contract and then they will close it and use the physical production for the tour. I am just sad to see this hot production become "Discount Dolly".

Wow! I didn't know that. I do know that BOM doesn't get the school groups because of the profanity in the show.
As for the other shows, poor Spongebob! I saw it this past week and I loved it!
For Hello Dolly, is there a discount code out there for Bernadette? I'm hesitant to seeing it at the moment because it's in previews.

It's fine now - if they sustained these numbers I'd be happy for them. I fear that there is about to be a severe drop next week (and perhaps beyond unless things can improve).
Maybe if they will hover around the nut it won't be too bad - but for example, it makes me wonder if they aren't filling the coffers with excess change or if they need a decent reserve for some of the very slow weeks (even if they make up for it in stronger weeks as spring/summer comes) - who is going to shell out for a new cast recording? And will they think twice about continuing after Bernadette?
I mean, I guess we can wait and see - believe me I'm the LAST person that wants to see any sad decline in numbers. I'm just fearful it might happen.

whilst Bette brought in a lot of money, she cost a lot too. this cast will be a lot cheaper to maintain so they may not need to take as much as you'd expect
Didn't even notice BOM only did 7 shows. I wonder why?

They do need to cover their costs and make some profit . This A not a cheap show to run.

That's not correct.. because Tues and Wed were the slowest days - and Jason was out as scheduled on Thursday and Friday. Thursday was Waitress Karaoke and weekends/Fridays are always crowded.
Waitress had two shows on Wednesday and only one on Sunday as opposed to one Wednesday and two Sundays because of the Superbowl. Two Wednesdays are not as profitable it seems as two Sundays. And it WAS a slow week for many.

It’s on TodaYTix. I paid $41 and had pretty fantastic seats (front mezzanine, only had to slightly adjust my posture when they went down in front of the pit). Highly recommend.
