Yes he did, but he has tested positive for Covid 19 so he probably wasn't feeling up to it.

Here is Kristin's original Rosie show performance of Taylor the Latte Boy, which she referenced last night.

This was a great idea executed beautifully.  Rosie did what she does best (she's always been a great interviewer) and her knowledge of Broadway was on full display for over 3 hours.  I think the Broadway community also did one of the things it does best, which is to pull together in support of a cause on short notice.  You couldn't miss the talent on hand (Adrienne's performance was a standout) or the spirit (Sarah Jessica Parker was her usual effervescent self) and $500,000 will be a big help to those in need.  An all-around smashingly successful event.

Absolutely understood, I posted that comment before any of us knew.

Also I agree, they should do this again in a few weeks!  We had two generations of Rosie fans watching last night and it was quite the fun time :)  Plus $500,000?!  That's amazing.

yeah that was great...but Sondheim washing his hands with a 20 second timer while singing Happy Birthday to Sir Andrew was hilarious!!!

Instantly iconic.

I want an album-quality version of Kelli singing Take Me to the World.

Patti, Chita, Billy, and Harvey were fantastic guests. I think there was a lot of unevenness with the short interviews. You could tell who she has a rapport with and who she doesn't. I understand that they wanted to fit in as many guests as possible but there were some awkward moments. She was a trooper for making it through 3.5 hours and all those guests.

I do not need Darren Criss singing more acoustic covers of songs he is not capable of singing but it keeps happening.

“Both Patti Lupone and SJP seemed hesitant about their shows coming back. Thought it did sound like rescheduling might be an option for Plaza Suite”.

i got the same impression.  If I recall correctly, when Plaza Suite was first announced, I thought they indicated that it was a hard close for July which was one reason I got tickets before the summer.  Perhaps they had contractual commitments elsewhere or family commitments.  Hopefully both shows can find a way to run but I would imagine it’s not going to be easy.

Rescheduling would likely occur next year as David Byrne’s AMERICAN UTOPIA is returning (Broadway reopening pending) from September to January.

Looks like we might have a return of THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW, either as a web show or TV.

I hope she considers doing this again. Maybe in April sometime? Maybe she can get some big names to appear. Bette Midler? Bebe Neuwirth? Laurie Metcalf? Nathan Lane?

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

I don't know, you could tell Rosie's heart wasn't really in it.  Maybe I was just expecting a more hyped and lively Rosie.  She waned throughout the broadcast (maybe anyone would after 3.5 hours).

Hmm. Was she the effervescent self of her TV show? No.

But to project that level of enthusiasm when you're broadcasting by yourself for over 3.5 hours likely would (1) be next to impossible and (2) come across fake at times.

Took a lot of heart to do what she did in getting such a major fundraiser off the ground with so many players even with the other help she had.

If you ever watch her live Instagram feeds, this is how she normally is.  What we saw on Sunday is the real and as-she-really-is Rosie.  Also, she herself is suggesting possibly bringing her show back.  It’s not speculation from a source.

She was at her best when her OWN talkshow rebooted and she was at a desk and one-on-one with a guest. She needs a show like that to play to her interviewing strengths.
