TEMPUS FUGIT / FUTUR PROCHE is Now Playing at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen
Performances run through 26 November.
De Belgische topchoreograaf Jan Martens is de komende seizoenen associate artist van Opera Ballet Vlaanderen. In FUTUR PROCHE bouwt hij met vijftien van onze dansers, twee kinderen en klaveciniste Goska Isphording aan een voorstelling over de nakende toekomst. Na twee eerdere succesproducties rond klavecimbelmuziek vindt Martens opnieuw inspiratie in verrassend, hedendaags repertoire voor het eeuwenoude instrument. Gewapend met dit symbool van de menselijke heruitvinding zoekt hij naar alternatieven voor alomtegenwoordige, duistere toekomstbeelden.
Na een première op de Cour d'honneur van het prestigieuze Festival d'Avignon en alvorens te vertrekken op een internationale tournee, presenteren wij FUTUR PROCHE samen met Tempus Fugit van Johan Inger. Deze Zweedse choreograaf blies onze dansers en toeschouwers eerder al van hun sokken met B.R.I.S.A. Nu keert hij terug met Tempus Fugit: een indringende, gedanste verkenning van het rouwproces en de slijtende tijd op de hoopgevende klaviermuziek van Johann Sebastian Bach.
