The Strand Theater invites you to its final production of the 2008-2009 season! Smolder is the final play in an entire first season dedicated to new plays by emerging playwrights. The Strand Theater is very excited to feature playwright Julie Lewis, whose last play Jarvis Legend's Borrowed Skin was featured in the 2008 Baltimore Playwright's Festival.

Laurel Mill Playhouse, 508 Main Street, Laurel, Md. will hold auditions for 11 men and 7 women plus extras, ages 15 to 55, on Tuesday, April 14 at 7:00 pm and Wednesday, April 15 at 7pm. Director Michael Hartsfield will have sides available for cold readings from the script of Father of the Bride. Produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., Father of Bride will run June 5 through June 28 on Friday and Saturday evenings with two selected Sunday matinees.
Rep Stage Offers Dickens, 'HAMLET' & More in 2009-10 Season Lineup

Charles Dickens, Hamlet, Sigmund Freud, Salvador Dali and three time-traveling Victorian ladies will be brought to life during Rep Stage's 2009-10 season lineup, announced today by Producing Artistic Director Michael Stebbins. Opening with David Davalos' 'Wittenberg,' Rep Stage's 17th season will feature Tennesse Williams' classic 'The Glass Menagerie'; an Edward Albee play directed by Helen Hayes Award-winning director Kasi Campbell; a unique Dickens-esque holiday offering at Belmont Manor and much more. In additional to regular season extras like pay-what-you-can Wednesdays, pre-show lectures, post-show discussions and the Rep Stage Reading Series, Rep Stage will offer a 15 percent discount on single ticket prices when patrons subscribe to three or more shows. Howard County Hosts Spring Youth Art Exhibit 3/13

March is Youth Art Month. Through an ongoing partnership between the Howard County Public School System and the Howard County Arts Council, the annual spring exhibit of student artwork opens on March 13 at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City. This year's Youth Art Month exhibit titled Identity, features about 430 works by students grades K-12 and is on view in Gallery I. In Gallery II, work by Howard County Art Faculty is on display in Artist as Teacher: HCPSS Faculty Show. Both exhibits will be open from March 13 to April 24, 2009. A free public reception including, beverages and snacks, and a 2009 Visual and Performing Arts Summer Camp Preview, will be held on Friday, March 27, from 5-7 pm.
