Glass Mind Theatre's Brainstorm festival is back, this year with a new twist! Playwrights will be teaming up to tackle 5 brand-new short plays inspired by the Baltimore community. The twist? Each playwright chose a submitted location and were tasked with creating half a play either starting in said location, or ending there. Brainstorm 3: Mind the Gap runs today, June 1 - June 17, 2012 at Load of Fun Theatre (120 West North Avenue, Baltimore), on Fridays, Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm.

On Thursday, June 21, 2012, the Howard County Arts Council will host a special reception in conjunction with the Columbia Festival of the Arts. The reception will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Howard County Center for the Arts and will feature two gallery exhibits as well as an improv showcase and open artists' studios.

Everyman Theatre Announces Directors for 2012-13 Season Productions

Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions in the 2012/13 season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will helm two productions during the landmark season, including August: Osage County, which will be the first production at Everyman's new location on Fayette Street in January, 2013. The season will include two productions at the theatre's current location on Charles Street, followed by four productions at the new location on Fayette Street.

Everyman's Vivienne Shub Receives Honorary Degree from Towson University

Favorite Everyman Theatre Company Member, Vivienne Shub, and Director of Development Cathy Wagner received honors from Towson University during commencement exercises at the end of the Spring 2012 semester. Ms. Wagner and Ms. Shub were presented with awards celebrating their dedication to theatre. Resident Company Member Vivienne Shub was honored with an honorary degree during the University's Graduation Ceremony today, May 25th. She was given an Honorary Bachelor of Arts. Now in her sixth decade as a professional actor, Ms. Shub has been celebrated as one of the region's most respected performing artists. She taught part-time at Towson for more than 20 years.
