Some of my favorite theatre-going experiences include seeing the original casts of ANASTASIA in Hartford (2016) and SHREK THE MUSICAL in Seattle (2008) for their pre-Broadway tryouts, as well as being front row center for both DEATH OF A SALESMAN on Broadway with Philip Seymour Hoffman/Andrew Garfield (2012) and the MERRILY WE ROLL ALONG revival at New York Theatre Workshop (2022). Other favorite shows include RAGTIME, PARADE, LITTLE WOMEN, and LEGALLY BLONDE.Favorite Stories

A CHRISTMAS CAROL closes the final chapter at Hale Center Theater Orem with an emotional last note. In January, the theatre will open its new home at the Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater (The Ruth) on the dōTERRA campus in Pleasant Grove. It’s a bittersweet feeling to leave behind the intimate space in Orem, but their 35th annual production of this iconic story is the right place to end it.

The national tour of PETER PAN, currently playing at the Eccles Theater in Salt Lake City, is a refreshingly refreshed iteration of a beloved musical that can sometimes feel a bit stodgy in its original form. Set in modern America with a male teenager playing the title role and more agency for the Indigenous characters, the show has been revitalized for a new generation.

There are three big reasons to see THE LIGHTNING THIEF at West Valley Arts: 1. The show is a hidden gem with an exhilarating pop score that adults, teens, and kids can all enjoy together. 2. As always, West Valley Arts has put on a fabulous production in one of the best theatrical venues in the state. 3. After a heart-stopping narrow miss in which the West Valley Performing Arts Center was almost doomed to demolition, they still need all the support that can be mustered to show the city council and community why this space and these people are doing something important.
