Soho Rep will commence its inaugural series "Soho Rep Studio," new plays in development at Soho Rep which are free and open-to-the-public with The Theater of a Two-Headed Calf's take on Shakespeare's Macbeth on Monday, September 24 at 7PM & 9PM at the Teatro La Tea at CSV Cultural Center (107 Suffolk Street, 2nd floor, between Delancey and Rivington).

The Theater of a Two-Headed Calf takes on Shakespeare's bloody classic, Macbeth, directed by Brooke O'Harra with a score by Brendan Connelly. In exploring the Lady Macbeth/Macbeth scenes only, Two-Headed Calf unravels the domestic drama behind this epic known for its violence and excess bloodletting. How does the silent violence, resentment, and disappointment seething between a man and his wife play out on a battlefield?

Macbeth features a cast of Jess Barbagallo, Mike Mikos and Heidi Schreck, and will have music performed live by Ian Antonio, Brendan Connelly and Russell Greenburg.

David Adjmi's Caligula will be the second new play for the Soho Rep Studio, with a workshop performance on Wednesday, September 26 at 8PM at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street, between Broadway and Church Street). Brian Mertes directs. The story of Caligula and Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho collide in this new play by David Adjmi. The tale of a lonely, middle aged professor at a posh boarding school, who is becoming increasingly undone by lust for his students. Perhaps Mother could be of some assistance with his romantic problems, or must she be killed…again?

Caligula features a cast which includes Reed Birney, Jesse J. Perez, and others.

born bad by Debbie Tucker Green (Laurence Olivier Award for Most Promising Newcomer in an Affiliate) will have a workshop performance as part of Soho Rep Studio on Monday, October 1 at 4PM at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street, between Broadway and Church Street). Leah C. Gardiner directs.

"the bits don't make the bulk and the bulk don't mek the whole and all a your bits together don't make your versions true." Dawta wants the family to talk, but they have never talked like this before. A family embroiled in an argument, with a skeleton in the closet

born bad features a cast which includes Sandra Daley, Patrice Johnson, Lizan Mitchell, Heather Alicia Simms, and others.

Crime or Emergency a one-woman show written and performed by Sybil Kempson with music by Mike Iveson will be presented on January 11, 12 & 13 at 8PM at Soho Rep (46 Walker Street, between Broadway and Church Street).

Finally, Soho Rep will present the first public reading of Jenny Schwartz's new play Somewhere Fun on May 20 & 21 at 8PM at Soho Rep.
