Applications are open through February 1, 2026.
Mount Vernon Virtuosi (MVV) will accept applications for its 2026–2027 STRING QUARTET FELLOWSHIP, a year-long residency designed for emerging string players seeking professional development and community engagement experience. The fellowship will run from September 2026 through May 2027. Applicants will submit materials by February 1, 2026.
Fellows will live rent-free in MVV’s Music House and receive a monthly stipend, along with additional paid performance opportunities. Throughout the season, the quartet will participate in regular coachings, collaborate with the Mount Vernon Virtuosi orchestra, and take part in community partnerships that include teaching in Baltimore public schools and volunteering weekly at a local food pantry. Fellows will also contribute to MVV’s broader artistic projects across the season.
Application requirements include a 15-minute audition video featuring two contrasting pieces and a $50 application fee. Additional information is available by contacting christen@mountvernonvirtuosi.com.
