"The money is going to provide space and support for both for our flagship programs - The Propulsion Lab Writers Group and the Launch Pad Reading Series." explains co-founder Kari Bentley-Quinn.

Co-founder Don Nguyen adds "in addition to supporting our free programs, we are forging a new works partnership with the wonderful and historic Queens Theatre to create even more opportunities for our artists in this borough."

On picking the location for the fundraiser, co-founder Laura Pestronk explains "We've loved Sek'end Sun from the moment it opened. The food is amazing and the cocktails are scrumptious."

"There is also the big neon QUEENS sign on the outdoor patio - which we find irresistible. The food and drinks are great, and Derrek, the owner, has been supportive during the planning process" adds Kari Bentley-Quinn.
