If a network environment blocks native IPsec communication, e.g. only HTTP and HTTPS traffic is permitted by the firewall, the NCP VPN client automatically utilizes Path Finder mode to emulate HTTPS on the outside of the VPN tunnel. This enables the VPN client to establish a secure, encrypted tunnel to the corporate network's VPN gateway via the HTTPS port, while maintaining robust IPsec security policies on the inside.
