She declared herself an "award-winning comedian" to a 90s television heartthrob- so Bec Hill has decided to try and make this a reality in case he ever looks her up by attempting to add every award-winning element she can think of to her 2014 Edinburgh Fringe routine.

Most award-winning comedy that she can think of is inspired by anger. But that's not really Hill's thing. She confesses that she never swears and doesn't like to offend people. She lists off some things that make her angry but they aren't too extreme. My particular favourite was one that I can really identify with - Gmail users that look down on people that use hotmail as their email provider.

Bec Hill is accompanied by a very impressive sketch book. She has modified the book and while some comedians will favour powerpoint presentations this is more like a children's book with moveable tabs to animate the pictures.

There are some excellent anecdotes in the set but Hill favours really bad puns which prompt groan-laughs from the audience. It is impossible not to like her as she has boundless energy and a very positive attitude. Although some of the comedy wasn't quite up to scratch for me, this makes for a pleasant hour of entertainment.

Bec Hill in... Ellipsis runs at the Gilded Balloon until August 24th.
